If you love good quality bread, plan a visit to this bakery/store. The featured loaf is Jingle Bread (raisins? Apples?) Order it ahead of time to be sure you can get it! It's often sold out by lunch time. My personal favorites are the plain sour dough (it makes THE BEST toast with Casco Bay sea salt butter)) and the Cranberry Orange Walnut. The olive oil selection is impressive, as are the many gifts available for purchase (honey, preserves, goat milk soap, etc.). The staff is super friendly and willing to make suggestions. There's a sample station featuring two types of bread (you can taste Jingle Bread) but don't be disappointed if the whole loaves are sold out! Want the best giant ginger snap on the planet (crunchy edges and bottom--chewy interior)? They sell them in the baked goods section alongside muffins and such.

I am a BIG cookie buyer. Whenever I come to Kittery or Brookline I buy every flavor. When I went there today the cookies looked different. So I decided to ask the clerk and she said they are making them off site now. Let me tell BIG mistake. They just aren't as tasty. Idk maybe it's the water(joke). Unfortunately I won't be buying more cookies because they just aren't that good anymore.

They have so many types of bread it was hard leaving with just 4 rolls. The sourdough is our family's favorite but the cranberry walnut is mine. It is like a dessert bread. The scones was just ok. If you are in the area you have to stop buy.

Well I learned yesterday that when someone says that When Pigs Fly they really do fly, I'm a believer now!Great assorted artisan breads, local jams, maple syrups and sweet baked goods. The Company Store opened at 10 AM when we were in the area but I would've liked to try their Pizza but the pizzeria opened at 11:30, too late for us while we were in Kittery MaineTake the trip and see for yourself and believe someone that says When Pigs Fly, they really do!

When Pigs Fly is a great place to get bread and other bakery items. But up until today they were my #1 recommendation for the best donuts and anytime we would go to Maine for a day trip we would race up to when pigs fly and get a canolli donut, or a chocolate Bavarian, Boston cream donut or even a blue berry pie donut(it was tradition). However today I was saddened to learn they no longer are making their own donuts which saddened me greatly. The new donuts aren't bad but they are no where close to the level making their own donuts were on. And for that reason I can no longer recommend going up there early for donuts on Saturday. Their crumb cake and muffins are still amazing and made in house but I will definitely miss their homemade donuts. Nothing better than tasting all the love and effort they put into everything they make in house and buying a few loaves of bread and camp fire cookies. I am hopeful that some day they may come back, and when they do, so will I,?

Their bread selections have drastically reduced since the days of covid, as has the whole experience in the store. You used to be able to sample breads and select dips. The donuts on Saturdays have also changed and are no longer made by the bakery, but are outsourced. I won't be going back on my trips to Maine.
