I would have given 5 stars, but the staff was not very friendly. The bagel sandwich and the blueberry muffin were very good! My daughter got a plain bagel said it was very good, the coffee was good too.

Excellent bagel with lox, and bagel with egg. Great coffee too! Good order online and pick up service.

The place is OK - not more than "OK" - nothing pleasing inside - it actually looks better from the outside...We are totally surprised that there were many people who actually "liked" the place and left positive reviews... The food in there is also not more than "OK" ..the menu items did seem interesting...bagel w/salmon and bagel w/white fish and so on.. ...but in reality the bagels were the worst we've ever tried anywhere - the bagels were too hard, rt simply speaking - they were at least 2-3 days old, the amount of salmon on the bagels was shamefully small., tiny and the worst thing is that they were mixed w/sliced tomatoes - whoever put them together clearly tried to disguise the lack of salmon w/red tomatoes - a total disgrace!! The bagels w/Whitefish were even worse - instead of the actual fish meat , what we anticipated, there was some kinda of a fish paste on our bagels , and again that was covered up w/some green edible stuff.- it only very remotely reminded of a fishy taste...Terrible!! The owners need to visit Brooklyn, NY to taste a real bagel - maybe that would help them in understanding what a bagel should be like!! We also ordered their soup - it was some kind of a spinach w/kidney beans soup - well...the soup in its consistency looked more like an overdone wheat porridge and looked absolutely not attractive to eat - the taste was OK, but , again, not more that OK.... and it was barely warm - and hot at all, as soups should be normally served. Overall ...the food's quality is totally mediocre, the service is not great either - we were serviced with all plates of different sizes, different colors and pasterns and that looked cheap and not professional at all...the same story was w/forks and spoons which also looked different - seemed like the owners brought from home everything whatever they no longer needed and served those items... We are NOT going to come back!

Finally a reason to go downtown Lewiston...I will be back. The poppy seed bagel I enjoyed with as crispy, crunchy, chew and at the same time light. It tasted as good as it looked. I also enjoyed a blueberry danish. This was not quite as amazing as the bagel but still very enjoyable. The atmosphere of the cafe was also pleasant, a great spot to enjoy a meeting or a casual date. I highly recommend the Forage Market.

Forage prides itself on the best local ingredients and you can taste the difference. It’s a nice down town location. Reminiscent of a college joint, mostly younger people working there and eating there. They have funky art and a creative menu. The bagels are fresh baked and $1.95 a piece plain. They have 5 or 6 different varieties of bagel (everything, sesame, sea salt, etc) and many breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I had the “Squealer” with the local bacon and egg, fresh local tomato and an anise forward aioli. It was a good size and $9.00. The flavors were balanced and it was very good. Quality ingredients all locally sourced. Definitely worth a quick breakfast or lunch or grab a coffee and stay a while.

Nice to see Forage on Lisbon street. Portland is such a Foodie destination. Lewiston is just the opposite. Forage is a great little cafe. It’s raw and stripped down space with high quality food. We’ll go again. I hope they inspire more. If you have to be Gluten Free or are GF by choice, you can ask for you sandwich on GF and they don’t stare at you.

Great bagel breakfast sandwiches all day. They offer several very interesting combo of ingredients. Just had an everything bagel with smoked salmon (really good quality salmon), egg, tomato, mixed greens, and yummy pickled onion. Coffee is delish. :-)

$12 for a breakfast sandwich? The bagel wasn't toasted like I asked, the egg was so runny that when they put it in the aluminum foil it came out the top and soaked the top of making it so gooey. The prosciutto had more fat than meat and was slimy. Since the bagel wasn't toasted, it was hard to bite through the whole sandwich. WORST 1st and last experience. I got it to go, so when I got home it was too late to return. My dog ate the runny uncooked egg and the slimy fatty prosciutto. There are so many other better options for breakfast here in Portland for less than a $12 breakfast sandwich.
