The only positive about Big Licks is that it is open later than the rest of its competition in downtown Old Orchard Beach (in fact, late operating hours are the only reason I patronized it). Otherwise, the ice cream is worse than what I can buy at the grocery store, and it is absurd that an establishment like this is "cash only" in 2023.

First floor kitchen is open and can view the kitchen staff preparing food. Observed a worker handling raw beef patties, placing them on the grill, then touching everything else, buns, cooked food, spatulas, lettuce, hot dog buns you name it they touched it. They were wearing gloves but didn't have the mindset to change the gloves prior to touching the prepared items. Serious cross contamination happening here.

Should have known it was a bad sign with the place was empty and the lone waitress couldn’t muster an audible “hello”. The menu says Fries Lil and Big 1/2lb and LB yet when I ordered I was told that ‘no it’s around a 1/4 and a little more’. We put in our order and 50min later nothing had come out. Our waitress looked overwhelmed and I feel somewhat bad because obviously the kitchen was at fault but there was a total of 11 people in the entire restaurant! AVOID this place if your goal is to eat.

The other bartender (George) I’m not quite sure what he did there, he was a total D bag that didn’t seem to be helping out the staff what so ever and just seemed to be an annoyance to the patrons.
