Last night I asked a few friends from our TA class of 75 to come have a happy hour drink with a classmate who was battling cancer. I expected maybe 5 or so but word spread and we had about 34 in total. The staff and management accommodated us as we grew, moved us into a more private room, and the service was impeccable. The waitstaff was so attentive to multiple requests from all and never batted an eye. I can not say enough about this place and how well we were treated. Had some equally delicious food too!!

Came in with a party of 10 Sunday 3/17/24 at 3:45pm, Was not greeted at all, older women with white curly hair saw our party and walked by multiple times without saying anything to us, as well as a few other workers (mind you the place was basically empty at the time). Finally the women came up to us with menus and told us rudely "Would have been nice if you had called ahead of time". Just absolutely rude from the start to all of us. Also told us that we had came in "Too late". We had mentioned that if there was a issue we would just take our business down the road to Jimmy The Greeks, the older lady responded with "you should go and do that"Definitely a horrible experience and will not be going back with that service.

I have been going to this particular establishment for years, just under either a different name or ownership and we love it! Our waitress Katrina was not only professional, but funny and spent the exact right amount of time with us! Thank you Katrina, we will definitely be back!!

I gave three stars because it could have been warmer, a bit chilly. Had to keep my jacket on! The heat kicked in 1 hour later! Food is pricy for amount; if you add fries instead of chips that come with a meal ,they add $2! Onion rings are more! For the price of a plate that should come with it.Upon walking in, no one was there to seat us! Maybe there is a lack of staff, not sure? The new world? Also, during our meal, the server didn't come back till the end of the meal to ask how things were. Otherwise, the food is yummy.

Great place to host a meeting and a Great fresh Maine seafood restaurant. They now offer the most high tech indoor golfing experience. Make sure you try the sticky ribs and get a side of mashed potatoes.

When Maine Medical Center was looking for a place to have an employee event/party my wife immediately thought of Karen and Birdies. We have know Karen from the Duffy days and knew she would be the one to ensure a great experience. The event was held last night and it was amazing. MMC had a great turnout and they all enjoyed themselves immensely. The food was great. I personally had everything and loved it. Great job Sean and don't forget about my request for a meat lasagna lol. Also want to thank Dennis and Shilyn who were great bartenders considering the crowd of at least 100 people or more. And I must say all the changes inside look amazing.Once again thank you Karen for pulling this off for MMC.And cheers to everyone and BirdiesSee you soon !!!!Jeff Comeau

Our neighborhood hang out. Probably the most consistently good year-round restaurant in OOB. The only thing better than the food is the staff! Lots of great changes since new owners but our Favs remain. Love this place!!

There are some big issues here with this map entry. Almost all of the pics, reviews, etc. are for a different business - same building. The previous business was called Duffies, it appears they closed down/changed about 6 to 12 months ago.The new business is called Birdies Grull and Tavern. Very different menu based on the reviews and menu pics currently posted. I have no idea if the management changed or staff changed. Now the actual review:The place is a bit of a ghost town as it is off season here in a very heavily touristed area. I'm glad they are open as almost all the local eateries are either closed, or they are Mexican or Thai (I like both cuisines, just need variation) so options in this area are minimal right now.I waited quite a while at the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign. I had to get a bartender's attention (he was the only employee I could see anywhere) and he told me to grab a seat and was friendly about it. I asked if the grill was still open as there were zero diners there at 7:40 pm. He said yes, so I grabbed a table. The place is huge, about 2/3 shut down; I assume they get used during on season and for events. There were about seven people at the bar, a bartender, and me. I sat at a table far from the bar, but the chatter was very loud. They need to put up baffling to help the acoustics.About five minutes later a server appeared, no idea where she had been hiding as between waiting then sitting I had been there about 10 minutes, which is too long for no diners. She was friendly and took care of me, so I let bygones be bygones about the wait. That menu was limited and prices very high, but I saw many items I wanted to try. There was a single page menu and single page drink list, both big, laminated, and double sided. I took pics but now that I am at home I see one side of the menu was too blurry to upload - I will capture that my next visit.I had the Chipotle Bacon Meatballs appetizer. It was good, but the sauce was too sweet and I never saw any bacon. It came with four pieces of garlic toast and they were thin but tasty. For main course I had the Cottage Pie, but the portion was so small for $22 and no accompaniments. I had a drink called the "One Put Punch." They had a golf theme (in the same building was a virtual indoor golf) so I believe they meant "One Putt Punch." It was okay but not a $9 drink. I had a second one anyway, who needs money when you can drink alcohol.Overall I am already planning to visit again soon. There are several menu items I want to try, and American fare is very hard to find in this area. I will add more pics and update my review if needed. I do recommend giving them a try, but bring a big wallet. I didn't even have dessert or entre sides and still paid $55 for a solo dining experience.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp available
