Was visiting ME for the first time from IA to brewery hop the Bangor area. Visited this location on 4/6/24. Been looking at the area for the last couple years to know their former Bangor location had closed few months before. Had high expectations for this particular location to end up disappointed... no online store, 10-12 taps while only having 2 house beers. Seems like their best days are behind them when the space has much protentional; When the fact that its in a college town, the campus only 1 mile away.

Great spot. Friendly bartender. Quiet place to have a few microbrews definitely will stop back!

Too good! Great place and service!! We ordered the flight... Pale ale, stout, tough end and next goal... Each better than the next.. Great location and parking!!!

We are lucky to have a selection of Microbrews in Orono! Black Bear gets 5 stars from me for its great (and diverse) beer, amazingly friendly and awesome bartenders, and chill hang-out vibe - it’s called “Orono’s Living Room” for a reason.

They have such a comfortable bathroom I’d go there just to take a leak any day. Shoutout to Jeff. He’s the homie!!

A fun little bar I spent much of my final semester visiting. The small town bar vibes are awesome. There's a pool table, darts, very friendly and notable bartenders, and AWESOME two dollar tacos on Tuesdays.

This is a great place to have a locally brewed beer. The bartender is awesome, the beer is great, the atmosphere is good, the prices are fair.

The best and oldest brewery around. Great staff and even better beer! Kid friendly. A great selection of beers on tap, Maine made root were and other sodas for the younger ones and now with some pub food inside. Amazing food and great specials and new chefs quarterly!. Swing in and order. You won't be disappointed! Outdoor seating during seasonal months.

Had a great experience at Black Bear Brewing. Husband tried a flight of beer and I tried Mango Habanero Limeade. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I may be rating this place a little low but if I am it's because of how many amazing options for breweries there are in Maine. The selection here was not the greatest but I would be willing to stop in again if I was ever in the area again.

My wife and I went to the Bangor location for more 207 BBQ, which continues to be excellent! The Mac n Cheese is total comfort food, really creamy and satisfying. I added chicken, delicious! My had the pulled chicken sandwich, which she loved. We’re big fans of their Gearhead and Split and Stacked brews. Great service by Sam. Great place to kick back and relax at the end of the week.

I didnt like this place one bit service sucks, bunch of people who think there poo dont stink. College girls and boys so rude, bet there mommy's proud of them. I tried several beers. One word . Gross....over priced on everything .

We heard the live music from around the corner and decided to seek out the source. It led us to this funky little brewery, seemingly located in an alley with outdoor seating and entertainment. After taking a group vote, we decided to delay our dinner plans and grab some beers and hang out. The beer was good and so was the service, entertainment and local vibe. Two thumbs up for Black Bear Brewery!
