Fam Dog is always a solid choice for a quick family bite. The kids meals are great and there are lots of tasty options. However, I have some pretty serious concerns about the customer service. The young man who evidently owns/manages the establishment seems to have some "issues" to say the least. I am curious what is going on with him to treat loyal customers in this fashion. On numerous occasions, he has been downright rude to me, my spouse, and kids. We have encountered him making snarky remarks about our food choices. He made my wife feel uncomfortable about ordering an ice cream, perhaps suggesting she was overweight - which is absolutely not the case whatsoever. She runs marathons for heavens sake! Aside from this comment, he made multiple eye rolls, doesn't speak, and seems irritated that we are even in his presence. I honestly don't know what we did to get on his bad side! I'd like to continue to visit, but am skeptical to even set foot in the place in fear he will be working. Side note: the other staff members are polite, sweet, and accommodating. If he hopes to keep a loyal customer base, this owner/manager needs to take a serious look inside himself and put in some pretty significant self work.

I love Fam Dog! It was the first restaurant I went to when I first came to UMaine and constantly return. Their brunch menu is delicious! However, I like to get the xolo chicken sandwich. They have gluten-free buns and are pretty good with allergies, but they have a shared fryer for fries. They also have really good ice cream, milk shakes, ciders, sodas, etc! It is a bit pricey, but entirely worth treating yourself. I get the same sandwich every time and it never disappoints.Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free Buns

Best dogs I've had! All the food here is fresh and delicious. The local beers are great. The atmosphere is open, spacious, and bright; a great place to go with a group of people, or if alone, to take a window seat and people watch. The people that work here are also friendly and knowledgeable. Always feel good (and full) coming here!

Sweet potato fries and buffalo chicken sandwich are incredible. The salad with the spinach vinaigrette dressing will have you coming back time and time again. Perfect for a post workout beer on tap. Bring the baby, bring the dog and let's hang.

Has a younger student vibe, but I went with my young son (six) and his grandparents and we were made VERY welcome. Delicious food! The only thing that would've given 5 stars for service would've been having all our food (5 meals) come out at the same time. Two burgers were out 5 minutes after the 3 other meals. Timing was off; but the meals were fantastic! Great service, staff was very pleasant!
