THey will ship lobsters, crab claws, clams, mussels, shrimp and other locally-caught seafood directly from their shop (right across from the dock on the Portland waterfront) to you. The lobsters always arrive alive and healthy and clean, 24 hours and sometimes less from when they were caught. For under $200 you can have 4 1-person-sized lobsters and a pound each of mussels and clams and crab claws, as well as bibs, shell-crackers, wetnaps and a picture of the fisherman who caught your lobster with a personal note and a map where he shows exactly where and when yours was caught. In fact, lately, they've sometimes offered this as part of a groupon for under $150, which is a fantastic deal (it includes overnight shipping).We got the 4-lobster and misc. shellfish selection as a 10-yr anniversary gift from my parents and it was one of the best gifts we've ever received - we enjoyed it with 2 friends and everyone had a fantastic time.I will absolutely use Catch a Piece of Maine again in the future.

Just received our shipment of lobsters and steamers all the way to California. It was a special treat. The prices were reasonable and the shipment came early in the day Saturday so we could plan our lobster feast appropriately. Definitely would go through them again!

Great Maine company! I'm from Maine but now live in Chicago and I wanted to throw a classic lobster bake for my Midwestern friends. I ordered klobsters, steamers & mussels for 30 people and everything arrived on time, alive and it turned out delicious! The customer service was great when I needed to adjust the order I originally placed. Highly recommended!

I wasn't sure what to get my sweetheart for his birthday, but I always remembered him telling me how much he loved lobster! Being that I am in New England and live Maine lobster is the best in the world, I decided a live Maine lobster would be an excellent present to have shipped to my honey in California! It was perfect. He loved it. I ordered him up the jumbo lobster.The lobster was sweet, succulant, and delicious. I highly recommend Catch A Piece Of Maine when purchasing your live lobster. I love the professionalism of this business. Roland was very prompt and helpful in assisting me with my order ensuring it arrived to my love on time for his birthday. I visited at least 5 or more other websites offering fresh live Maine lobster but this one in my opinion looked the best. There is plenty of literature and a youtube video to watch on how they catch the lobster right on the boat, box it up nice and fresh and ready to deliver. The perishable package arrived on time and the lobster came in a styrofoam cooler wrapped up nicely in seaweed. My sweety nicknamed his lobster "Charlie". Later that evening he steamed and devoured Charlie. The lobster was such a big hit, he told me he could of at least ate 3 of these suckers thats how good it was. A few weeks later he ordered a couple for his brothers birthday from this same company. Next time I will be ordering the 6 pack of lobsters for my love. Again I highly recommend this place!

Lobster Tails were very small and two items were missing from the order. It was a christmas meal for they were all alone for the holiday's. It was on time, but missing items and an inferior product from that area.

My mother had her 80th bday and could not make the trip up to Maine this year. I never tried to send lobsters since I always had them available but I wanted her to have fresh lobster and steamers. I sent the large 6 pack and 2 pounds of steamers. She called and said it was the best present she ever had. She said they arrived in seaweed and not so much as a single clam was broken. I really appreciate the care taken to make a present to someone special. Some corporate type might send any old thing any old way but I was glad for the care taken. I would hope the fisherman's cooperative could negotiate a better delivery charge since they claim to ship "thousands of pounds of seafood" - why not work a deal with the delivery people rather than putting it on the customers...but hey, as long as we keep paying the freight, I guess there is no need to put themselves out there.
