The Clam Bar came across my Instagram feed, so of course, I had to pop by on a quick trip to Freeport! We ordered the clams, slaw & fries for $27, which I felt was a good deal & a perfect amount to split. We sat under the covered deck, due to the rain, & it was very comfortable! Even dog friendly. I do wish it wasn't raining, so I could give another star, but we didn't get the full experience of the beer garden area & other shipping container that sells food. There was a full gravel parking lot, a full bar in the Clam Bar & a cool location with planes taking off over head. I would suggest!

Coming here thinking about a solo dinner but ran into a cribbage tournament hosted by the owner and locals. Had so much fun! The steamer was great too.

Travellers, this restaurant is out of season, and tented outdoors. But it was open for lunch. The restaurant was not as warm as if it was a real building. The clam chowder had no liquid, it was a cup of boiled potatoes. It was disappointing. The potatoes had a good taste but there was no liquid in the soup. The slash burger was okay but not so great. The steamer clams were very good. Clean and tender. The fried clams were good too. This is undoubtedly better in season. The cocktails are good but on the weaker side. Check it out in season.

I was only able to photograph the lemonade that was prepared with a unique cocktail style by the manager, when the food was delivered to us, the appearance and aroma did not make us forget to photograph it. We ordered: the fish sandwich which was a bestseller. A delicious melted crab cheese, my daughter a Clam Chowder that was surprising and my wife the Loaded Snappy red hot dog that managed to surprise us. The manager's attention is unbeatable! Totally recommend this place.

Such a great place! The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. The clam rangoons and fish and chips were my favorite and I can’t wait to come back and try more!! Especially once it’s a nice enough day to enjoy the outdoor

we came here looking for lobster rolls and unfortunately they didn't sell any but the owner was extremely helpful about where to find some. We ended up coming back and eating here because the food sounded good and the environment was even better. We ended up getting a loaded hot dog, a clam chowder, a fish sandwich, a crab queso, 2 cokes and 2 homemade strawberry lemonade and got a total of $69.66. The prices were very reasonable for the taste and the aspect of the food. The hot dog was very good and the sausage was really good and left us really surprised. The clam chowder was exactly what I wanted, a warm and really yummy plate. Eventhough it looked small it was really filling. The fish sandwich had really big fish piece and was the favorite plate of my very picky brother. the crab queso looked small but was again very filling for one person It had a very good taste, it's a little spicy but nothing bad at all. The strawberry lemonade was my overall favorite thing. it's not a store bought lemonade that you can get at any store, he made it right in front of us and it had that homemade, strong strawberry flavor. I usually don't order lemonade because I don't like the store bought taste but I do not regret buying this one at all because it was exactly what I was hoping it would be. I recommend this restaurant without any second thought. it was very family friendly and the owner was overall a sweetheart and even gave us recommendations of places to go and helped with questions we had about the town. Overall an amazing and delightful experience.

The perfect fried fish restaurant! It was a hot summer day and the three of us went for fish and chips. I ended up having shrimp and chips... all was delicious. Great location! Parking can be challenging but it was fine for us.

Have been wanting to try this place since they opened this summer and finally made it a couple days ago. They don't technically have inside seating yet but it seems like they are working on that. They did have a little trailer with space heaters and it was warm. They have lots of picnic tables and cute areas for the summer. This winter it also looked like they were selling trees. The service was great and everyone was super nice. Now for the food it was okay but not the best. I got the fried clams and for being a clam bar I thought they would be better. They had a good flavor. They also had a very small menu. I am excited to see what they do with this place and to come back in the summer!

We were in the area and decided to stop by even though it was raining - thankfully they let us sit inside a little shack to stay dry while we enjoyed our food. Clam basket was eh but the crap queso was SO good - would highly recommend. Pretty location overlooking the water and the guys working were very kind and had great recommendations!

This wasn't on my radar coming into Portland, but we drove by as we killed time between airport pickups. It was decided we'd have lunch there. My group tried everything from the Jalisco steamers, the fish n chips, the lobster roll and the crab tacos. All were pretty solid. The steamers were a big hit. That broth is good enough to drink. Definitely sop it up with the remaining bread. The crab tacos were good but a little on the small side. We also got the hot buttered rum and bourbon apple cider. Yum. Top it off with some oysters on the half shell. There was a good crowd there for late lunch Thursday afternoon but no wait to get service or find a nice table. They have some "indoor" seating options if it gets too weathery.

If I could give 6/5 stars I would - what an incredible spot. Parking wasn't ideal, but once we snagged a spot our group had a delightful lunch. The space itself is outdoors (with some indoor seating), and was overall inviting. We were able to bring a dog and sit in the outdoor areas with no problems. The menu had more variety than I expected, and the drinks were inventive as well. Everything we tried was outstanding, from the oysters, to the hot dog, the cheese dip, and more. My spicy margarita was also excellent. Service throughout was helpful as well. I highly recommend a visit, and will be back next time I return to Portland.
