Been here a couple times before, but tonight they really came through for me. A crowded Saturday Night. I knew it was a long shot. The place was packed. I was greated by an Amazingly Beautiful Hostess , that went over and above to find me a seat. Once seated,I was treated to service amongst the chaos, that never missed a lick. Fantastic Burger. Received my Beer and Burger in prompt time. Both were nothing less than Stellar. Again, I'd go just to see the Hostess again, lol. Sutch a Sweetie. Big Tattooed Beast of a Man assisting with tables, and I assume assisting with security. He was also a cool guy. No issues! I will be back. Give these people your hard earned monies!!!

Awesome divey lounge with great cocktails and food, and a great staff.

Really nice staff , great beer and super yummy food. My wife had the veggie burger and I had the Pork and Potatoes which was schnitzel in a mustard bechemel sauce with potato salad and slaw. We loved all the food and the beer offerings were fantastic. Sit outside to enjoy a fine day on Congress Street. We must go back, as the menu features many other great choices. Homemade chips are also very nice. Go now! Get some food!Ok folks.!!.. We went back and were seated inside. Things went just as great as before. We had gnocchi and a wedge salad with sazarac and other cocktails. This time the staff was just as friendly and helpful as ever. The vibe on the inside is a wonder. I drank old fashioned cocktails among the friendly locals and devoured the well curated food selections. I would say to everyone this place is a must go in your Portland trip. CBG is the most welcoming and grounded food and drink stop we have encountered.Get over there and let a true Portland experience cure your woes. Food, beer , cocktails.... they got it all.

Walked in and had mixed feelings. But by the end of our meal, decided that this may be one of my favorite places in Portland. Totally an Anthony Bourdain type of "divey" vibe. Food great, not fancy, but seem to be invested in doing simple things very well. Inexpensive. Nice bourbons....few less common choices were not on menu. Service was awesome. Hidden gem!

Dead animals as wall decor. Lots of ironic beards on the clientele. A martini stirred with way too much vermouth. A menu without a salad. No options if you’re a lowly vegan other than a surly response from your server. Hard to believe this is Portland- or I guess I’m not that hip

If you enjoy staring at taxidermy or a photo of pigs awaiting slaughter amongst a uniformly self important appearing overly hipster bearded crowd- then you’ve found your home. The menu is limited and no vegan is welcome - your servor will smirk this place is so not cool

Rare blend of retro dive and cocktail bar. Great cocktail menu and cheap beer selection as well. Cozy vibe great for a first date or night out with friends.

Had such a fun time here! The bartenders were very hospitable. The drinks and food were amazing and prompt and the prices were very reasonable. Will be returning when we visit the area again!

Our group was struggling to find somewhere for a later meal and CBG went out of their way to seat our party of 4 as quickly as possible! Including moving some plexiglass around. Despite it being later at night we were able to choose from a full menu and let me tell you- it was GREAT!! The drinks, the food, the vibes we loved it!!!

This beautiful restaurant almost fooled me. I almost did not eat here. We sat down and looked at their menu which was very small. I ordered a salad to be safe and my wife ordered a mac and cheese. Salad had such fresh vegetables and the dressing was just right. The mac and cheese was amazing. I took a few bites from my wifes plate and I almost ordered one for myself. Definitely recommend to sit outside for a beautiful view. The server was so friendly and attentive. Food and service 10/10

The outdoor seating in the warm sunshine was too good to pass up. I had the 'pork and potato' special -- pork schnitzel with a mustard sauce that came with potato salad and cole slaw. It was something different, and very good. The Hemingway daiquiri was a delicious midday cocktail. (The vinyl swivel chair with armrests was the most comfortable outdoor dining chair ever). Very good service, reasonable prices.

The Monday all day brunch menu is fantastic, the cocktails are reasonably priced and fantastic, the bartenders are ballers, and overall this place is wonderful, 5 stars is an understatement.
