This is a fantastic restaurant in Portland. My wife and I recently celebrated her birthday. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. Be sure to order the garlic knots.

Our recent visit to David's for a birthday dinner was fantastic! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for a special celebration. The haddock and mussels were cooked just right, and the bacon & white bean ragout added a lovely depth of flavor. The butternut squash risotto was creamy and delicious, and the spinach provided a fresh contrast to the dish.My mother's Tournedos au Poivre was also a hit. The pepper-crusted beef tenderloin medallions were cooked perfectly, and the green peppercorn and brandy cream sauce was rich and flavorful. The garlic mashed potatoes and autumn vegetable medley were the perfect accompaniments. We'll definitely be back!

Maine restaurant week visit. I think the menu for the event is different from the regular menu. It WAS very tasty even so. Waitress attentive even with multiple tables and one very large group.

Food very good, however two spoons on table had food on them and needed to be replaced.

I go to David's twice a year for lunch with a dear friend who loves it here. And when we arrived we could smell fresh bread from the open kitchen. Today's lunch certainly did not disappoint. Our server Elizabeth L was outstanding. She was very attentive and on point, despite being quite busy. Our food was wonderful as always. I had the mussels with truffle fries. The mussels were huge in this delicious chipotle cream sauce. The fries were amazing! In a day an age of mediocre service and small food portions, David's Restaurants give diners hope for a better meal. Well done!

The food was good. The service was painfully slow. Our waiter was not attentive to us at all. We were very annoyed at the poor service he gave us. At one point, he was just chatting with the bartender while we were waiting for dessert. Our reservation was for 7:00pm and we sat down approximately at 7:15 and did not leave until 9:45.

We came for Restaurant week lunch and were seated immediately. Drinks were received quickly. Appetizers were very good. We waited quite a while for entrees. Although we saw other tables served before us. The food was delicious, however. Desserts were also good. The mussels were particularly good, although a piece of bread would have been appreciated since the broth was excellent. We will return.

This was my first time eating at David's and I was so impressed. The food was exceptional and perfect. The service was stellar. The vibe was exactly what I look for when eating out. I will definitely be coming back every chance I get.

We are big fans of this restaurant. Unfortunately their restaurant week menu was not executed well. The hake was a plain piece of unadorned poached fish with salty spinach. The risotto cake was very good. The pork filet was not cooked properly. Requested at medium, first try was still blue in the middle. Our server went to get a second filet, and took it off the bill. The second filet was a little better but still not cooked to medium. We ate what we could and left the rest. Both bacon wrapped filets came with unrendered uncooked bacon. Crème brûlée was awesome,; pistachio dacquse was not traditional (meringue instead of sponge), and the described raspberry crème was not present.

My girlfriend and I went to David's restaurant for a 7 course meal prepared by one of his chefs named Trevor, and David himself. The food was wonderful and the presentation of it was fantastic. My girl and I absolutely loved the experience and will definitely be doing it again! Great job Trevor and David!!
