Incredible meal, superb service and comfortable atmosphere. First time to the east coast and new to Greek cuisine. This Arizona girl didn't know what she was missing. Ten out of ten. Beautiful meal

Haven't had a Greek salad as beautifully prepared with as fresh ingredients as I did at Emilitsa. My son goes to college in the area and we will definitely be back. Yum

So.. although their website has not been updated since 2015 (!) - they are closed until late August at least.. surprising to find this out by calling for a reservation..

I only went to eat here once, but the service was excellent, and very polite. The food was fantastic as well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I haven’t eaten here enough to give it 5, which I reserve only for restaurants I’ve visited many times. Emilitsa is definitely worth checking out.

Other than Fore Street, this is my favorite restaurant in Portland, and that was the case pre-pandemic when Portland was named Bon Appetit's Best Food City in America, and we were awash in great restaurants. And being up there with Fore Street puts you in some rarified air in Maine. I worry about how many of our great chef-owned independent restaurants will remain when we finally get to the other side of this crisis, and some great ones like Piccolo and Drifter's Wife are already gone. This is such a tough business, when you can go from James Beard nominee to being out of business in six months. I sure hope I can go to Emilitsa again, for some grilled octopus and lamb. I've been to Greece many times and to me this is as good as Greek food gets in Maine.

Chicken with mushroom, spinach, ham, over pasta and a creamy Alfredo sauce. It was so good and the portion was so huge that I literally ate off of this for three meals. Prices are very good for the portion sizes they give you! Would definitely come back here again to try other options. The menu is huge.

Haven’t had such great food since being in Greece. Im still half convinced my Yiayia was in the kitchen making our dinner. Absolutely incredible.

We were in Portland for a few days last month and had dinner at Emilitsa on our last night there. Everything about our experience there was phenomenal, including the food & drinks, the atmosphere, and the staff. We had the fava, the lamp chops, and the moussaka and would recommend any of those, but we're sure you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Definitely pay this place a visit, you won't regret it!

Good lordy! This is the place to take someone who would enjoy something exceptional without being the precious Millennial ethnic, Funky-wunky farm-to-table, or Corporate Big Hunk of Dead Cow Expensive. If you care about your dinner companions, take them here. The decor and furnishings are upscale without being lavish. The service is friendly, efficient, and attentive. The food is the best of all. This is NOT New Jersey-Traffic-Circle Greek. This is something that we've never, ever had elsewhere. It is perfectly prepared and composed of eastern Mediterranean foods.
