Our second visit in 5 years. We did the Maine Restaurant Week 5 course menu with wine pairings and it did not disappoint. My only complaint was the quantity of food. We were stuffed when we left. Food was so good. We'll have to make sure we don't let another 5 years go by before we visit again.

Good food. Great service. Overpriced. We were charged $24 per couple for charcuterie that consisted of two small plates of meats and cheese. There was 6 couples!

I loved the menu options at this place and the interior is super unique. The wine list was also very thorough. For me personally I don't do a lot of fine dining, but when I do I want it to be like my experience at Five Fifty Five. The waiters were very knowledgeable and the meal was incredible!! I especially loved the freshly baked cookies on the dessert menu -- what a smart idea that I've never seen done at other upscale places. Overall a great date night spot or a place to go for a fun upscale night out.

So my boyfriend brought me here for Valentine's Day and I was excited because I've heard amazing things! Long review short tho- it was sebago brewing quality food and we were both heavily unimpressed... it was a four course meal and our waiter wouldn't come over to us after the second course. Wanted to love it but just couldn't ....

Very warm, old bldg on 3 levels (it's winter now). Food is outstanding; varied specialty choices presented by attentive wait staff with precision to detail. A nice variation on comfort food with "extra". The chef's choices blend beautifully from appetizers to dessert. Intimate setting yet not pretentious; welcoming. Pub next to restaurant is old style Colonial & lovely; could easily spend relaxing afternoon with friends catching up.

I absolutely loved the food, atmosphere and we had great service. The staff were all very pleasant and the chefs thanked us on the way out. My husband had duck and I had the hanger steak. Both were top notch. We will be back. Thank you!

$70 - 5 course prix fixe, why the F not? Warm bread service has delish chive butter. 1st course was choice of soup or salad. My beet salad was beautifully presented and the nut butter made it truly unique in taste and texture. 2nd course - manchego cheese didn't wow me, but I dislike manchego any time. The brittle made the course worthwhile. 3rd course - chicken liver pate was delish in being smooth and taste, but the soft toasted brioche didn't do much for texture. I asked for crostini that was served with cheese course which redeemed the dish. Lobster Mac and cheese IS all that - noodles perfectly al dente, cheese sauce is smooth and perfectly salty, lobster meat is plenty. Surprisingly not too rich to keep coming back for more bites. We shared with the table to make sure we have room for the tasting. 4th course - sea scallops, big in size and well Seasoned. Delicata squash was superb. Desert - (deconstructed) mocha latte - fun to eat! Red wine meringue creative and interesting palate cleanser. Worth the time and money - would go back!

Visited for a pre-show dinner. Special menu was offered - 3 course fixed price. Service was perfect and the food was as well. Delightful atmosphere and the entire staff was very customer aware and did all the little extras to make a perfect dining experience.

Exquisite food and wine pairing menu!

Tired establishment. Tasting menu sounded great, but execution was underwhelming. Short rib was cooked beyond recognition; the desert was literally grocery store quality. Wine was wildly uneven - seriously Rickshaw - so mediocre. On a positive not our waiter was terrific.

Great location, service and superb food and drinks! My personal choices were the beet salad and the scallops. Shared a dessert, a take on cheese cake ... to the next level.

This is one of our go to places when we are visiting Portland. The food and service are first rate. We splurged on the testing menu and enjoyed the variety.

Staff/service was fantastic. Perfectly timed courses. Oysters, cheese board, kale salad, squash soup, scallops, caramels and port. All of it irresistibly prepared and presented.
