This is a review for the new "Mister Burger" which is seemingly how Flood's is now operating under coronavirus.Best (and maybe saltiest) fries in Portland. Best fried tofu sandwich in existence. Best cheeseburger in Portland, according to my burger-eating partner. Just come here.

Great experience; went twice during our stay in Portland, and both days service was great, friendly, and quick, but did not feel rushed in any way. The menu is small, but very well focused, and the food is exceptional. Great selection of drinks, and very friendly and attentive staff!

Wife and I said we'd split our meals. After finishing my half of the pork ragu I said, half joking, that I wish we weren't sharing it was so good. Then I tasted the cheeseburger, wow! Best cheeseburger ever. I'm glad we shared. Go. Go now. You must go.

Some of the better drinks around town!

TL;DR -- The hype is valid. Come get the burger ASAP. For some more detail: - service was fantastic, friendly, and fast but not so fast you felt rushed - food was really good. The calamari was perfection as was the aforementioned burger. I had the brown butter squash ravioli that blew my mind. Why 4 stars? The portions are pretttyyy small for the price. The burger is definitely big but the other items on the menu weren't fully satisfying (I think the ravioli came with maybe 6? And they weren't large ravioli) With that said, the flavors are spot on - so anything lacking in portion is made up for in taste! The menu is also super limited - so if you're coming with someone picky or a small group, it may be an issue (or everyone may order the burger and all will be well!) I'm excited to come back and give some other items a try!

This place has so much going for it- great burger, cozy space and when we were there, great service. But we were totally surprised when we went to get wine to have with our burgers and there wasn't a bottle of wine under $48. There are so many good wines out there for under $ 15 , even ten dollars , that it's either lack of imagination on the buyers part or well, pretension. I'm hoping they update that and provide for those of us that want to spend a little less. I'll definitely go back and try again!

Such wonderful food and drink, I've only been once, but everything we ate was beyond fantastic! Starting with a scallop crudo that was truly done in a unique New England style, one of a kind with browned butter and a bit of brioche crumb. So savory, creamy crunchy, spicy! Yum! We followed this with the large Caesar salad, huge and delicious! Easily big enough for four to share or for two to really dig in and still have leftovers. So tasty, full of creamy garlic and beautiful crunch and pleasant small surprises! Such simple foods elevated to new levels through skill and beautifully curated ingredients. This is nowhere more apparent than the cheeseburger and fries, which were so incredibly satisfying. Small differences make it even better than the nationally renowned burger made at the owner's sister restaurant the Palace diner! Our meal and service were five stars, the same for our wonderful drinks, which is why I need to go back. At the very least to try the mouthwatering roasted chicken I caught glimpses of, and I surely can't live without that beautiful tallowy burger and it's wondrous bun (made by Tandem)! Update, chicken was soooo goood, and everything else too!

Flood's is fantastic! I've been multiple times - the cheeseburger is the stuff dreams are made of. The tomato ricotta salad was also delicious (a seasonal choice, I think) as were the broiled oysters and "sardine party". The cocktail selection is fantastic, albeit quite pricey for the size. My only minor gripe is last time I visited, they were down a bartender which wouldn't have been a big deal had they told us before they put our drink order in (had we known, we would haver ordered beer or wine). We ended up getting our entire meal (starter and main) before the cocktails ever showed up. Otherwise, the atmosphere is cozy and romantic; I can't recommend Flood's enough!

great hidden spot, the only recommendation is bigger wine glasses for the reds and/or decanter to open them up. that's the only criticism.

Forever on the hunt for the next great burger, I had my eye on Flood's before it even opened. From one of the beautiful minds behind Biddeford's Palace Diner, the first thing I heard about Flood's was that the menu would include a burger, everything else was up in the air. That was all I needed to know. Located in the Francis Hotel, Flood's gives off the air of an old mid-century hotel bar in the best possible way. Sitting at the bar, sipping on a martini made with Monkey 47, and listening to Solomon Burke's "Cry to Me" is exactly the vibe I didn't know I needed. There is a small menu of bar snacks and sides and a few smaller dinner plates that are easy to enjoy at the bar. And then there's the burger. At $18, this is not your run of the mill restaurant burger. But if you're looking for an indulgent burger that is bursting with flavor, it's well worth the price. It's all at once juicy, tangy, salty, a little bit sweet, and nearly impossible not to eat all in one go without putting it down (and not just because of the logistics of it all). Having had most of the burgers this town has to offer, I'd say the Flood's burger sits comfortably in the top 3. Whether you're coming in for a drink or staying for meal, Flood's is well worth the trip. The ambiance alone keeps me coming back for more, and I have a purse full of empty Beechies gum boxes to prove it.

My boyfriend and I went for dinner and we got the Pig's Head Terrine to start which was delicious and buttery and went really well with the crusty bread and Dijon mustard that came with it. My entree was the clam and mussel toast, the flavors were exquisite, you just need to go try it. Shane got the classic burger and was not disappointed, perfectly cooked on a freshly baked bun from Tandem, you really can't go wrong here.

Flood's is a special little delicious spot.

Similar to the gentleman Tom (11/8 review), I too consider myself a cheeseburger chaser. If I could sum things up any better than Tom already has, I would. Their 'celebrated cheeseburger' was truly worth celebration, and was virtually flawless as far as I could tell, as were the fries. My partner also thoroughly enjoyed her calamari.
