Doesn't look like much being in a refurbished shipping container but this place is vibing. Love the fact that they're following the true Japanese way of eating ramen, eat and go. Enjoy the noodles and go about your day. A simple menu, and one of the better noodles I've just had in Portland. They have a lot of potentials to be something. The location is hard on them, but if you find them on yelp give them a try. We have had a few hiccups with our orders in the past, we've only seen a couple of staff working and one consistent person when we go. Hope the best for Ishi Ishi.

Yum! Really great ramen! Has limited seating inside and out but well worth a visit.

Great food and service! We really enjoyed Tonkotsu broth. Also the owner's dog Chashu was cute & friendly. Give them a try!

I was very happy with the ramen -- fully flavored with an enjoyable plethora of ingredients. The menu is indecipherable, so I had the guy who worked there interview me and come up with a choice which turned out to be good. The menu is limited, and there are no sides, just ramen and canned sodas. Seating is outside on ironing boards (!!) which worked fine. I expect in the winter they will use the counter along the window inside, but this will mean a meal with loud rap music, which will not be everyone's cup of tea. You order inside and the guy working there brings your order to you. It would have helped to have some side options. The ramen is also served in cardboard bowls which lead it to cool quickly. And the price is a little high for a bowl of ramen. Buy, hey, the guy has to make a living, and the ramen seemed very good to me.

Wow! We live in Taiwan and frequently visit Japan. This is the real deal! Great ramen, yummy yuzu lemonade (not too sweet!), and an amazing napa cabbage salad. Super friendly service, too!

I rarely leave Yelp reviews for anything, but I had to for this delicious ramen shop. If you like ramen this is the place to go. We went back two days in a row on our vacation because we craved the Tonkotsu ramen. The broth is the key and makes this dish with layers of rich flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked - it was just a lovely ramen experience. We can't wait to visit again soon so we can get ramen!

This was probably my favorite restaurant in Portland. I had the tacos and the Ramen. Both were fantastic. This should be a go to spot if you want a very tasty lunch. It's primarily outdoor seating, because the place is small, so expect that.

Really good food and good service

Great food, an even better atmosphere. Food practically had me begging for more. Heavenly experience on the taste buds, and a very enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend coming, especially if you're on the younger side.

The guy that works there is really nice, service is quite fast and the ramen was good too. Small place, have to eat outside but it wasn't bad.

If you're reading this review you are obviously considering eating here. Seriously do yourself a favor and just go already! I've been meaning to give it a shot for a while and can't believe I waited until now. The food was incredible! These guys give the other Ramen restraunts in town a run for your money. Honey Paw & Miyake are both great but I feel Ishi Ishi takes the cake. The food was amazing with fun fusion options. Owners are super friendly and funny. Can't wait to see this place grow! We had the Ishi Godita Crunch which weighs over a pound & Ramen, both outstanding! My wife won't stop talking about her meal.Looking forward to getting back here very soon and trying some of the other menu items but I am not sure I can order anything different after that initial dining experience. My mouth is seriously watering thinking about it. You will not be disappointed. Simply delicious with generous portions!

Sooo that was the beet ramen I’ve ever had. Thank you!!

I had a bowl of one of their ramen soups and wasn't impressed. It didn't have much flavor and wasn't worth the $15 price. No ambience whatsoever, average service.

Awesome Ramen spot. Reasonable prices, BYOB. Whats not to love?

While they started as primarily ramen (which was and continues to be outstanding), Ishi Ishi has pivoted slightly to have nice small menu of excellent sandwichy & salady items - plus the ramen.Check out the menu to see what I mean by that, it’s hard to describe since everything is unique and creative. They also have some meal kits in local stores, so check that out too.But back to the ramen - it’s the best around and always worth the trip.
