This is a Whole Foods, I have no idea why it's listed as "Market Cocina." I really like this WF, it's pretty big for a smaller town like Portland. They have a great selection of everything, from produce to local beer to staples to grab-and-go food. I especially recommend their "New England Turkey Cranberry" sandwich, it was really yummy (and diary free!). They also carry a local brand of grab-and-go Chinese food called "Chow Maine," which offers mostly vegan selections and is also quite good. It's a close walk from DT Portland (be careful of ice on the hill in the winter though), and there's also a huge parking lot. I'll be back!

I feel that Whole Foods quality and selection has gone downhill. There are less products to select from and often there is just one brand and their 365 brand. The discount from Amazon Prime is saving less and less. At check out there is often no one to bag groceries. The produce is still good in quality and selection, but that's about it.

Home delivery: Some positives: I used Whole Foods delivery through the pandemic and am so appreciative that we have that option here. There is an employee in the store, Sky (not sure of correct spelling) who is the ecommerce manager who has been so helpful and friendly with any issues I've had over the past year. The shoppers don't always get it right, sometimes less so than others, but you can get a hassle-free refund by calling Amazon (not the store). No biggie. On one occasion a driver went rogue and went to the beach and possibly into the ocean (according to the app, and the driver never showed up!) with my groceries but other than that, no drama. Big negative: Amazon advertises "free home delivery" for Prime members if you spend $35 or more. I've discovered that they mark up many items for home delivery vs in-store, so that is NOT "free home delivery" if you're adding a surcharge! However, they call it an in-store discount. Not sure how legal that is but it sure is sneaky. I discovered it this morning. I don't know how long that's been happening but I took away a star for that. In-Store: A few weeks ago I went for the first time in over a year now that I'm fully vaccinated. I encountered two very unhelpful employees, one who was actually rude. I was also shorted $2 with milk bottle returns that I didn't notice until I got home. For the poor service I at first deducted a star but decided to give them a few more tries in hopes that the old magic will return. They now have self-check-out which is nice. I hope they can improve customer service since that is part of why I shop there. UPDATE 6/2/21 THE MAGIC IS BACK! Moving forward I plan to do a mix of home delivery and in-store shopping. They are still my favorite place to buy my groceries.

Theeir delivery system was not tied in with the ordering. My online order was wrong on several items. When I called the store about making it right, I spoke with a supervisor and then a manager. Neither wanted to have anything to do with me. They told me it was Amazon's problem, not theirs. I offered to bring the items back to the store for a refund which they refused to do. After several minutes, when I was trying to talk to the manager, she hung up on me. It was an example of the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered. I used to work retail and I know that customers can be exasperating at times, so I really try to empathize with the person on the other end of the line, but these people obviously didn't give a rats --- about satisfying me. Not a good experience at all.

Terrible experience shopping during COVID-19. The prime employee shoppers have no etiquette. WF is chasing the $ at all costs. I have always been a supporter of WF but this consistent experience will alter my plans in the future.

I want to give a shout out to Whole foods for keeping me safe by offering home delivery and keeping me filled up on delicious chicken fried tofu....I think that I am seriously addicted to it. Its been my "go to" food for this shelter at home .....They had some delivery issues initially, but they go the kinks worked out and I have been lucky enough to get same day delivery for a while now! The shoppers have done and excellent job picking out my produce too. I wish they could deliver beer like other establishments though....

This is a huge Whole Foods I went with my wife today we didn't really buy anything we just wanted to check it out see how it was. We haven't been since Amazon took over but would definitely come back to buy groceries. Love the local beer section.

Let me be clear---I love THIS Whole foods. I first visited here long ago and far away when I worked for DHS which was literally a stone's throw away. Came here for lunch and more weekly. Many of the products I once bought no longer are available---sadly. I now live in CT and have noticed a huge decline in Whole Foods, particularly after the Amazon takeover. I do visit occasionally for certain specific items, but am totally disenchanted. However, a recent visit to the Portland, ME location really revitalized me. Such a bigger and truer section of actual whole foods--which is the whole point. All the CT (Milford, Fairfield, Darien, Glastonbury)locations I have visited miserably pale in comparison--which is unbelievable and sad. And sucky. This location so far seems the closest relation to the original concept.

I used to shop here all the time and found some good deals. The last few times I went, I found good deals, but theyy were ALL for prime members only? What's going on? And when I was there, 3 cops were roaming around! Why?? This place is going downhill, fast.... I miss the soup at whole grocer..... ahh the old days.

I often avoided Whole Foods for my regular grocery shopping because the prices were way over my normal bill at Hannaford. Recently, I've been using the Amazon prime benefit at Hannaford and the deals are great!! All you do is scan the code from your amazon app and boom instant savings on many items throughout the store. Staff is always super friendly and willing to offer cooking advise or pairing options with your meat and fish purchases. The prepared foods are always fresh and delicious, with options for all dietary needs. My guilty pleasure are the smoothies that greet you right when you walk through the doors. Delicious! At about $8 a piece it get become an expensive habit.

My wife and I were in the area shopping and wanted to get a quick bite to eat. We couldn't find anything in the way of fast food like a Chik-fil-a so we thought we'd give Whole Foods a try. We saw some outside seating and there is more seating inside and a cook to order, open restaurant with bar style seating inside. There is a salad bar and a hot food bar as well as pizza. I had two slices of pepperoni pizza (see pic), my wife had a salad with sliced chicken breast and we both shared some baklava. My pizza was a 5 in appearance but a 3 in taste, it was just ok for me. I was hungry and it got the job done. My wife's salad was good but the cucumbers in her salad weren't the freshest. The baklava was sweet and delicious. The total cost was a little over $20, and we got $10 on our Amazon Prime Account for Amazon Prime Day. So, overall not a bad deal.

Amazed and disappointed! We often eat the prepared foods here at Whole Foods, I was surprised and extremely unhappy to discover that the scrambled eggs here are not scrambled eggs at all? If they had eggs that were organic but not from Maine, I would understand. 2. If they purchased eggs that were frozen or shipped in cartons vs. cracked fresh I would understand. 3. The scrambled eggs that were on the breakfast bar this morning had 7 ingredients, these were highly processed ingredients like canola oil and sunflower lecithin to name two of them. I asked two managers who were working hard there and they both checked and agreed that the label was correct. I imagine someone somewhere in supply chain thinks this is a good idea. If Whole Foods is going to operate in Maine, they should be doing their best to source local Maine eggs. If for some reason they cannot find a local farm to buy them from, they could go to the next nearest state for them. Is this about margins? A jumbo egg without the shell ways 2 oz after cooking. At 8.99 per pound on the prepared bar that means they are charging $1.25 per per prepared egg. There would be plenty of profit!

I hate writing negative reviews. I always enjoy the wonderful foods that I find here. I recently met with the florist (first week of March) to see about ordering bouquets and boutonnières. She was supposed to get back to me with a price quote. It's been 9 weeks now. I sent 2 emails the first in April and the second 2 weeks ago inquiring as to when I could expect a quote. The first email I got a response saying a couple weeks and the 2nd email wasn't answered. I'm extremely disappointed in the customer service of the floral department. I will be contacting the corporate office. Over 2 months is a completely unacceptable amount of time to wait for a quote on flowers especially when florist shops can provide them within days.

This was actually my first time at a Whole Foods Market ever. I went there to buy items for Christmas Eve dinner to cook back at the hotel for my daughter. They're very overpriced but that I knew about Whole Foods. They have a wide variety of so many different items cooked food, non-perishable, Fish Department, wine, etc, you name it they have It was also a plus that they were open on Christmas Eve.

Having given Whole Foods two weeks to respond to my concerns, I'll share my frustration with this particular location. After picking out a few breakfast items on a Saturday morning, the cashier rang up my items. I used my debit card and requested cash back. As I received a text message from my bank (every time my debit card is used, I receive notifications) the cashier told me that something went wrong with the transaction. She asked me to try my card again, and I declined. A member of management stepped in and failed to offer a fix to the situation, only insisting that I swipe my card again. I left Whole Foods with no groceries and no cash. My bank has stepped in and has offered to investigate what happened. Whole Foods, however, has failed on all sides to do anything to rectify the situation. The store manager was no help. Corporate customer service told me that a regional representative would help me out. When that never happened, I followed up via email and Twitter. All communication has been ignored. You're not the only game in town, Whole Foods. Take better care of your customers. This particular location struggles with providing even basic customer service, and you should try harder Update 3/17/19 Someone reached out to me via email! They offered to get a refund, give me a gift card, and asked me to call to chat about the experience. Too bad the number they gave me is for some random guy in Boston, and not a WF call center. And when I replied to the email and told them the number was no good, there was no response. More reasons to shop elsewhere. Update 3/27/19 WF replied to this review and asked me to contact them. I did, and haven't received a response after a week. Customer service is obviously dead.
