So sorry this place is closing! Don't get back to Portland often, but this was a stomping ground for all of us in hospitality back in the day! Best wishes to your retirement @Charlie and Richard! Enjoy life and family!Cheryl Jordan

Saw that they were open online despite it being Christmas Day evening. Went on their website and placed a $107 order. Order went through and was received by the restaurant per the pay app they use and said it would be ready per the time given. Went over there at the pickup time finally finding out they were closed for the next 3 days. First day they finally opened, I went back to let them know what happened. They totally denied receiving any order or payment. Which I know is a lie! This establishment obviously doesn’t have any sort of customer service nor did the owner (Richard H) didn’t even what to talk to me.Don’t bother coming to this place. By the way it looks inside, it will be closing down soon. And by the way they treat customers, makes me wonder what else do they do behind the kitchen to save some money.

Do not purchase the bloody marry drink. Made with roses lime juice. Really disgusting. You never ever make a Bloody Mary with roses lime juice. Chicken wings were good but under cooked. Wait staff was fantastic. Can’t hire anyone better.

Food was great, waitress very attentive, prices were really good for the portion size!We shared the Lobster Bomb and couldn’t eat it all!Oh yeah, we had some fun with the chalk boards in the bathrooms too! Check it out, take a pic and leave your mark like we did.

It doesn't matter if your voice is bad, just enjoy it here

Reluctantly stopped by just bc we didn’t want to eat at a “tavern”, but so glad we did. The food was really good and the prices were good too! Hostess was nice and attentive. Had a little fun with the chalk boards in the bathrooms too! Although it does have a bar, it has more of the restaurant feel once inside! We shared the Lobster Bomb plate

Had chicken wings and chowder. All good except there was blood running from the chicken wings... If you order wings, ask em to cook them properly.

I've been here a couple times prior and good food and service but today our waitress (also bartender), an older blonde woman, was terrible and the food wasn't good either. Very disappointed after such a good experience the in the past. I won't be returning again.

The food is good and the prices decent. I have only eaten lunch here. The service has been slow and our waitress was a bit curt our last visit, but in general it is fine for a casual meal.

Menu looked great but that’s where it ends. The worst haddock of any sort I’ve had in a long time. Fiancé had fish tacos. I had baked stuffed haddock. It came out as baked haddock unstuffed and both dishes were the most bland unseasoned and overcooked, It’s fish after ) food you could imagine. Try using some cooking sherry and any seasoning. I’ll be ok with salt and pepper if you won’t use a seafood base or something more upscale considering we paid 100.00 for an app a drink and 2 entrees. Will not go back but I do hope you pull it together. Used to be a great spot for food and drinks 10-15 years ago.

Genuinely disappointed with this place. Came here at 6 on a Wednesday and bafflingly they were closed. What bar closes at 6pm on a Wednesday in the middle of august in the middle is Portland ? Couldn’t be more disappointed as a tourist that came here on vacation looking to get a beer mid day. Of old port tavern is looking to stay open they should maybe open before 12pm and maybe you guys should open as a bar and actually serve your customers. Absolute joke of a bar in the great city of Portland. I’d you’re visiting this area this should be the absolute last place you consider to have a beer couldn’t be anymore disappointed in the service lol

This is a very nice restaurant for a reasonable meal with large portions. The Lobster Bisque had a gigantic portion of lobster and was well worth the money. If you have the need to eat lobster this is definitely a great choice!

Loved the pub feel of this place! We were seated immediately by the bartender and enjoyed a glass of wine while checking out the menu. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with sauteed onions and it was really good. The chicken was tender and juicy and the fries were perfect! My sister had the haddock tacos and said that it was the best haddock she has ever had. Our bartender was a real delight, checking on us as we lingered over our lunch and refilling our wine glasses. It was a very relaxing meal with excellent service and great food.

Great food and very nice service. Not too flashy but it's a great spot to forget about the city

We had been looking for a place to dine on a Friday night. Most places had a long wait, but we stumbled upon Old Port Tavern. We went downstairs and was surprised there were a lot of open tables. I thought maybe the food was bad. OMG, I was so very wrong. Carlin was our server and she was excellent. She kept up on our water and was honest in her recommendations. I really wanted pasta and had the chicken Alfredo. It was excellent. Hands down the best I’ve ever had. Portions were huge. My husband has the haddock and it was huge too! It was so tender, it fell off the fork. The drinks were also great. I definitely recommend this place!
