Went here for a bachlorette dinner. Absolute amazing spot. Espresso martinis were on point. I’d opt not to get the lobster roll from here as the other food really stood out more.

Better restaurants out there. For the cost, there’s an expectation that wasn’t met. The wine is good, but everything else is not. The ratatouille came out cold, and when it did, it wasn’t good. Just $27 mid-level vegetables with nothing on it. The lobster roll was mostly shrimp. Drinks ordered were left at the bar for 15- 25 minutes. The wine selection is great. Our server forgot our appetizers, but was kind about it. I don’t think it’s all his fault. I think he was doing the best he could. But this restaurant left A LOT to leave desired, and the only reason I didn’t consult the manager was because it was a bachelorette, and didn’t want to cause a scene. It would be fine if the cost was lower, but cost and luxury warrant food and service to match. This simply did not.

This is a restaurant in name only. One can smell the lack of management and professionalism in every corner. A limited menu produced by a overly slow kitchen and presented by the most annoying person imaginable. The vichyssoise was some kind of [not even close to chilled] colorful fusion known only to a cook from some far off place, certainly not France. Even at half the posted prices, it would be unconscionable to give this place even a one star rate.

Disappointed with the significant menu change. The crepes, beef tartar, and many other items are gone. Replaced with non French items. Best to change the name if you are going to ruin a good thing. Bummer.

My girlfriend and I decided to have dinner here Saturday night. Since she grew up in Paris I was expecting some criticism from her but it was just the opposite. Not only did she find the food to be completely authentic and well prepared, she said it reminded her of her childhood back in France. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the location was just walking distance from our hotel. Our bartender, Caroline, was the perfect compliment to the entire experience and we will definitely come back again for a repeat experience.

We happened upon this sweet restaurant for lunch quite by chance while visiting Portland for the day. If we were staying the night, we would have returned for dinner! Having recently returned from Paris, we were delighted to find an authentic French restaurant. Quality service, great food, contemporary ambience, tucked into a charming, quieter street turned lunch into a special treat. Tres bien!

Had dinner here last month, food and service was great! however applying a service charge (which i confirmed with the staff, directly affects their wages if asked to be removed) because you don’t want to pay a fair wage is heinous and deserves a 1 star rating.

This place is not what it used to be. Prior to the new chef, it was an excellent French Bistro that my girlfriend and I would visit multiple times per summer (for the past 3 years). We would recommend this restaurant to everyone, now we recommend not attending. Our most recent visit was terrible. The chicken liver had an un-edible layer of fat on the top. The escargot came with only 3 snails, encapsulated in massive fried balls. That’s about as far as we made it. We cashed out and went to a different restaurant. Attached is the food from the old restaurant. It was top notch and truly French. Hopefully this place gets their act together and reverts to the old menus. The spring and summer 2023 menus are laughable in comparison.Updated review after response from the owner:What was there to explain? The layer of fat tasted rotten, almost resembling vomit. This was by no means a flavor that can be incorporated into anything. It was a nice touch being charged an extra $4 for the baguette that was listed in the description as well. Did I mention there was a hair in it? Anyways, if it was explained to me that I was going to be charged $16 for three snails in hollow fried balls on soggy arugula perhaps I would have ordered the french onion soup. Wait, I did try to do that; you guys were all out.Judging by the most recent reviews on google and yelp, running out of french onion soup seems to be a common occurrence. Not everyone wants to eat bone marrow, chicken liver, or snails. I seriously hope the pursuit of being different isn't this restaurant's demise.

Very difficult to find these authentic French bistros serving traditional French entrees'. Not all of us want a bistro with an "interesting twist" but prefer the real deal. We were there in the afternoon and unfortunately had other commitments for dinner. But the items we had were amazing as was the wine. Very few places serve decent wines by the glass but this place nailed it. Bummer they were out of onion soup, seems like that should be a bedrock item. Dining here will be at the top of our list when we return to Portland ME.

The service was good and the drinks were great! Friendly staff and comfortable, yet upscale atmosphere. The food was somewhat wrong…. The French onion soup was made incorrectly and was as thick as gravy. Not to mention a large layer of fat sitting on top that was not from the cheese. We then waited for over an hour for one hanger steak (cooked well, but the steak knives were really dull and the kids couldn’t cut the meat). The fries were excellent. The sides were all excellent too! Maybe a little heavy on the butter, but hey- everyone loves butter. The trout was great! But portion was very small. Probably could have double the size for the price we were paying.Loved the vibe- made it feel like all were welcome. I’d suggest to the owners that the knives need upgrading and the French onion soup needs a new recipe. Would love to give them another chance and maybe for brunch or another dinner.

When I made the reservation, I noted that there would be 2 people in our group eating vegan as instructed so that there would be a special meal made for us. Instead what we had was the kitchen scrambling to simply take off the sauces and cheeses from the vegetarian dishes on the menu, leaving us with bland, boring, and unimaginative food. We ordered the endive salad which came with 3 endive leaves, some frisée, and beets, all undressed. The baguette was overly toasted and was only served with butter and no offer of olive oil. The main dish was 3 roasted carrots, a roasted potato, and handful of arugula. Everything had way too much oil and the arugula was so over salted, it was only edible by mixing with the veggies. There were no herbs, spices, or frankly any attempt to make the food taste good. If I had walked in off the street with no prior notice, I may have expected something like what we received, but that fact I reached out in advanced and was assured the advance notice would mean we would have “a dish just for you” only adds to my frustration. Unfortunately, we will never go back. In the future, please do a better job with vegan food. Plant based food is ever more popular and France has wonderful plant based food options.

Fantastic dinner. The waiter was very knowledgeable as well as excited about the new chef. We had bone marrow, duck confit, and trout. Ever bite was a rich and delicious experience. Really well done and beautifully presented.

We made reservations for their Raclette and it was such a fun & delicious experience! I highly recommend booking it for a special occasion. The salad before is a little funny, as it is just a giant plate of arugula with vinaigrette. It could be served as half of the current size, and still be a generous starter salad. I highly recommend booking this for a special occasion or fun date night idea!

Exceptional service - thoughtful, knowledgeable, attentive - really fantasticGreat Ambiance, decor, and vibeGood menu designThe problem was the execution on the food - the choux pastry with the escargot was super stale, the pork medallion was tough, and the steak (medium rare) was both overcooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside - tough and chewy, not melt-in-your mouth. The chutney served with the pork tasted like frozen fruits plopped on a plate. The dessert tarte pastry was poorly layered and not particularly tasteful without the layer of sugar. The Oysters and Pork Rillette were good, but neither of those requires much challenging preparation, so we have to assume the issue is with the line.Again though, great concept, great service, and great vibe. Would love to see the quality of food come up to snuff.
