This place is all right. They have a handful of different vendors and food places and there's a dining space upstairs. You would think this place would be packed and there'd be a whole bunch. More people in the weekends but always seems to be quiet and not all the vendors seem to be open at the same time.

**This review is for The Frying Dutchman**As other reviewers have mentioned, the Public Market House has a great variety of local foods, but the downside is that each vendor runs their own hours, making it challenging to have the full range of options when you visit. We wanted to try Mr. Tuna or YardiTing, but both vendors were closed at the time.We settled on The Frying Dutchman (located on the second floor). Both of our meals were “just ok.” My sister had the mapo poutine and the “fries” corndog. I had the curry fried chicken, the “panko” corndog, and the “ramen” corndog. I thought the curry fried chicken was the best.We over-ordered because we wanted to try a bit of everything, as this was our first time having Korean corndogs. But really, one order of corndogs or fried chicken is enough for lunch because the food is heavy and greasy. I did like the “pick 2” option for the corndogs because of the variety offered. The price point is good for the amount of food received.I recommend checking out the Public Market House, but I wouldn’t go back to The Frying Dutchman. Based on the reviews I’ve read, there are better options available - if you're lucky enough to show up at the right time.

We were a bit disappointed upon our visit here. It's tucked into a corner and once we found it every business inside was closed even though the sign in front of the stand stated they were open. Mr Tuna was open and I will post my review of them separately as they deserve 5 stars. Unfortunately I have to recommend not to waste your time on this venue for now.

They didn't have any business cards

The stores in here are nice but the flow of the "market house" is broken. They used to have a large facility and plenty of space. Now trying to eat at one place and you could be sitting in another's dining area. And they are pleasant to let you know. Places stacked on top of each other like a trailers in "Ready player one." Again the places inside are great, but to know they basically pay the equivolent to an HOA fee to have such a small space regulated so poorly, I cant pay their exuberant prices.

Had some of the best j*** chicken at Yardie Ting that I have had in a long time. Rice and beans, plantain's, and festivals were equally amazing! Will be back.

Portland Public Market House is a small little place for a handful of eateries if you are looking for lunch or an early dinner. There is only a small amount of vendors that are in this building. I came by the Portland Public Market House with my husband for lunch on a Thursday afternoon, before noon. We ended up going upstairs and decided to get some clam chowder at Kamasouptra (fun name right?). I would definitely come back to have soup at Kamasouptra for sure. But the building here itself doesn't really offer than many eateries and think this place has so much potential. I think there should be more seating though for those patrons that wish to dine in.

Not many seats to sit at after you get your food . Some of the places were not open fri sat or Sunday. Had soup at karmasuoptra and it was just ok. Maybe other vendors are better.

We came during lunch time and most of the shops were closed. Only the sandwich shop downstairs was open and 2 other shops upstairs. We ordered 3 various sandwiches; albacore tuna, peanut butter jelly, Italian panini, and a chicken Caesar salad but they gave us a chicken sandwich instead. Honestly, it was nothing special. Something I could have made at home for a fraction of the cost. The breads weren't even toasted. Just plain bread. We had to pay $5 for parking and they don't validate. This place is more for the locals grabbing a quick lunch if they worked downtown but not a tourist spot.
