I had an exhausting day at work and wanted some comfort food, but the lines at Sarku and Panda were too long and my favorite dish from Soul Food had been excised from the menu. Lo and behold I saw a new place at the food court and decided to try it! I haven't actually been to the namesake food truck before so I can't compare it, but I think the menu is more or less the same. I got the burrito al pastor and a jarritos soda (lime - they didn't have my favorite, tamarind, but I rarely see it anywhere since it isn't really familiar to the American palette). They cooked the burrito quickly and to order, right on the flat top grill. Upon sitting down, I realized they'd also thrown a handful of free chips and cups of free salsa in my bag, which was lovely. The salsas though, were just okay, very mild. The burrito itself was delicious, very flavorful, well cooked, all the different ingredients comingling beautifully. I would say my only complaint is that the foil it was wrapped in was very thin and flimsy and wouldn't hold up when I tried to rewrap a portion of my food to take with me. Really great addition to the food court and a worthy replacement for the long lost but not forgotten karmasouptra that once held that spot.

Easily the best Mexican in Portland? In Greater Portland? Maine!? I don't know. I can't wait for next time.

Really fantastic, my new favorite food truck in Portland Here's why 1. VERY friendly and attentive people working the ordering window 2. Super FAST turn around. My food was in my hands within 5 minutes 3. Really flavorful tacos, burritos and quesadillas 4. Reasonable price point. For $13 I got a HUGE chicken and cheese quesadilla that came with 2 salsas, sour cream and chips!

Yummy Carne Asada tacos. The radishes are a great touch and both salsas are delicious!

Best burritos I have had in the over 10 years I've lived in Portland. We've tried them all..this blew us away.We have tried all the local spots and they don't compare. This food was extremely fresh, the meat was wonderfully seasoned and juicy, and the people making the food were kind and seemed to love making food. Service was fast too.

Love the food truck scene, especially at the Eastern Prom. So many options to choose from, ample off street parking if you can't find something on the street, and the view? Can't be beat. On a beautiful Friday before Labor Day there were more options than ever. Although a couple of my favs were there, I wanted to try a truck I hadn't tried before and I always love Mexican food - can't hardly ever go wrong with veg, meat, cheese, and chips, so I waited in line at La Poblanita as they prepared to open up at noon, which gave me ample time to peruse the menu and enjoy the view. After considering the roasted veggie burrito bowl, I decided to go with the carne asada as you can really tell a lot about a restaurant by how they season and cook meat. The flavor was wonderful, cooked perfectly with just the right amount of char. I liked how they served each ingredient separately in the burrito bowl so you could taste each, and combine in ratios to your liking. As you can see from the photos, the portion sizes are huge - enough for two people. In fact I could've split mine with my friend (who got the same thing), but ya know, not too keen to share food during covid outside the fam. Since we were planning on hanging out for a few hours, we couldn't take home any leftovers so we soldiered through and ate every last bite, which we regretted. We walked the Eastern Promenade trail all the way to the far side of Portland's Commercial street and back still feeling overstuffed. Might be challenging to do, but maybe offer a half order/children's size?

I was able to try Tacos La Poblanita at the Eastern Promenade over the weekend, and it was great. The cashier was really friendly, and the carne asada quesadillas (and the tomatillo & chile salsas) were all really good. I thought the portions were also generous. I'll keep my eye out for them the next time I am in the area!

Best mexican food I hve had in Maine. I used to live in California so I am almost an expert in Mexican cuisine, and this is by far the best in the area. The quesadillas are fantastic.

Went to the beach with the pup and came across this gem. We ordered the taco trio with steak, chicken & pork. ALL were AMAZING! Service was quick, friendly and the truck was impeccably clean. The chips are thickly cut and the salsas are incredibly flavorful. This just may be our new Sunday jaunt. Absolutely delish.
