I really want to like the Holy Donut more. Their donuts, for what they are, are tasty, have super creative flavors, and you get a sizable, Instagrammable donut. Unfortunately, no matter how many I've tried, I'm more of a cake donut person and can't bring myself to enjoy the texture of these donuts. That being said--if you have a sweet tooth, are a foodie, and love a picture-perfect donut, check them out! Although I miss their cozier Exchange Street location, their Commercial Street spot makes it work. They have vegan and gluten free options for those who have dietary restrictions, which is a must in Portland!

I always make a point to stop by the Holy Donut when I am in Portland, I just love the texture of their potato donuts! This is a family owned and operated, all natural facility that uses no artificial colors or dyes. My new favorite item on their menu is the everything bagel donut. If you love everything bagel seasoning in addition to mixing savory and sweet items, do not pass up this donut, it is amazing!!! This is a great place to go if you or anyone in your party have any allergies. They thankfully have gluten free options, (hurray!). Be sure to check this place out, and perhaps try to go when they're not so busy. Be warned, the summer months can get quite crowded.

Donuts are average just like anything you’d get at dunkin. Got 60$ worth and had like 8 people try them all agreeing it’s just an average donut. Tad dryer

These are all cake donuts. I had a cinnamon carrot cake. It was mostly cinnamon; really couldn't taste the carrot cake in this donut. Most notable about these donuts is the price $3.50-3.75 per donut. Steep price for a so-so donut.

Was excited to try this place, seemed very busy and popular from the outside. I've got to say the donuts are not as good as I thought they were going to be. I had two that were very stale and the others, despite being seemingly fresh, have a very dense cake like texture, not particularly donut like at all. Maybe it's me and I know very little about "potato donuts", but I'm just not a fan. Quite a few varieties were unavailable also which was a shame. Some of the varieties also seem like they're trying too hard to be alternative, strange little place.

Went here early in the morning to get a Kwik breakfast. No line, kind service, and the food was nice and fresh, plus the atmosphere is groovy. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Steps into the donut shop are very steep. Not a handicap accessible facility. Donut flavors are very interesting, I picked out a selection however was full after eating one. I can highly recommend the lemon cannoli donut. That would be the donut in the photograph I have posted that is to the front. Limited seating.Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. Very steep steps.

We stumbled on the Holy Donut while walking around Old Port and went in on a lark. That proved to be the best choice we made all day. I had the pomegranate and my spouse had a maple. We'd planned to walk and munch. Both donuts were so good that we had to stop and savor them. So good. 12/10. No notes. Loud shop, not a lot of room, don't care. Absolutely epic.

Impressed they had so many vegan donuts but it did not taste good. I ate a few bites and tossed it. I think there's probably better vegan donuts in the city, I'm not much of a donut person, but I can assure you this was dry and flaky not in a sexy way.

Amazing gluten free donuts! I haven’t had one for years and this made me so happy.
