Always a go to staple when you're in downtown Saco! The food is always fresh, good, and quickly made. The staff are friendly and there is usually a good banter between staff and patrons, it really helps brighten a day! Cheers!Kid-friendliness: They have a lot of good options for the picky eater (in my case a picky 4-year-old).

So I went to Amato's in Saco Maine on 11/21/23 and ordered a meatball sub, I didn't want the meatball's in the bread because I hate soggy bread, so I asked them to put the meatball's in a container with the cheese and I would assemble it at home. They did what I asked and my sub was really good.

Clean, cozy restaurant with spacious indoor seating area and a million drink, sandwich, salad, brownie options.Picked up phone call within 5 seconds. Polite. Pizza was great and ready 10 minutes after the phone call as promised!!!!Everyone was super nice :)

The older gentleman who took my order was amazing, as he made sandwiches. Cashed out customers, handed out uber orders, grubhub, lined up slips, grabbed chips, sandwiches, salads, soda, and still said to every customer "your cleared for take off" with a smile! Great job!

Try to come here every year when we come to Maine. Their Italian subs are like no-one else's! They are a local "chain" but each location feels like a mom-n-pop shop. Fantastic variety & selection and fantastic food! ?
