I'd been wanting to try their Portland branch while staying near Maine Medical but a blizzard stopped me. So today we went to the Saco location with friends and even this California food snob was impressed. Enchiladas were great, my Patacon(fried green plantain topped like a tostada) was delish and more than I could finish, guys liked their Lomo Saltidos. Only the tostones were not that good. Finally I can have good Central American Food in Maine!

I've eaten here a few times in the past...totally fell in love with the chicken quesadilla! I ordered one tonight, it's been about a year since my last visit, and I am beyond disappointed! Inside the quesadilla was just minimal cheese and grilled chicken globbed in the center. The quesadilla was cut into 2 pieces and thrown into a small box with a bunch of tortilla chips and a small container of sour cream. The chicken has a very odd rubbery texture...I'm a little concerned that it may not even be cooked thoroughly. What a complete waste of $13...I don't even think it's safe to feed to my dogs!Has there been a change in ownership or management?? Such a difference from my past experiences!!

Super clean place! The portions are huge! My husband ordered the carnitas burrito and it looked massive. He wolfed it down. I ordered the mushroom, beef and chicken empanada. The mushroom and beef empanadas were my favorite. Skip the chicken. We tried the tamale - chicken - I'd skip that too- I just don't like white meat. The staff are super nice. If you're looking for inexpensive Cuban - this is the place in Saco

Visiting family in Maine and decided to stop here for lunch, so glad we did. Every time we come here the food is absolutely delicious. This time we tried the cheese quesadillas which was delicious and filling. We also had our favorite empanadas; chorizo and chicken. Highly recommend!!
The Choripan was the best I've had. The Colombian hot dog was also delicious.

I had one each veggie & cheese, beef and chicken empañadas. They were tasty, but I would have preferred a higher ratio of filling to dough. And they came with nothing but a teeny tiny cup of pico. SUGGESTIONS to the owner: 1. Do not allow dogs to sit inside where people are eating. 2. Provide at least a short description of the food items. 3) The person taking orders should be able to speak and understand English, should be able to describe the offerings, should communicate where to get plastic ware, napkins, sugar, etc. 4) Do something to minimize the noise level.
