This gem was just what my friend and I were looking for after a stressful post op appointment in Portland. Sunny, friendly, and inviting, right down to the red stools at the counter and inviting booths. The blueberry pancakes with the real maple syrup option were amazing. And the bacon, crispy, was delicious! I will definitely go back there, and I highly recommend!

An OK diner, if you have no other breakfast choices. The food is stunningly average. Nothing is unique. The service is really hit or miss. The decor is solidly in the uncanny valley of "diner style". It feels more fake than it should. There are significantly better breakfast choices in the area with better food and atmosphere. You can make everything here better at home.

I've been going here for years and my last two visits were more than disappointing. Yesterday my wife and I ordered burgers and a small order of onion rings. The onion rings were different but tasty. The burgers on the other hand were awful. I ordered mine medium and it was a hockey puck that even extra ketchup and mayo couldn't cover the taste of way over cooked dry meat that had quite a crunch in every bite. $40 bucks plus tip with soda and coffee. Pretty sure we were over charged or charged for refills. Won't be back anytime soon. Staff was great. To the response from the owner. No I did not bring up the burnt food as it took way to long for it to come out and we were traveling back to Boston. The purpose of the review and all the reviews I do is to provide honest responses to how a meal was served. A responsible restaurant would have never sent out food that was burnt. We got food that added up to 28 dollars plus coffee and soda and the bill was 40 and change.

We arrived at 5pm. Ordered shortly thereafter. It's 6:24pm and our food just came. Others that came on after us are done eating. Yes, we kept asking. The server " doesn't control what order they cook in". Good luck. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to get your food in a reasonable amount of time. And 2 of 4 orders were wrong...

Walked in on Saturday for 9 people for lunch. We were sat rught away and there were only a few other people in the restaurant. Basic sandwiches took 45 minutes and were not worth the wait. Fries were still cold on the inside and toasted BLTs were hard as a rock. Wouldn't come here again.

Food was amazing, probably the only thing holding this place together. The service is so bad... the waitresses are rude... and the feller in the back cooking has no manners.

A wonderful diner with exceptional menu and great service . Under new ownership and well worth a visit as you’ll be back for sure . Love their breakfast !

The only reason I ended up here was other places were too packed...but this place had a huge and empty parking lot. The parking lot was designed by...someone who doesn't park a car. The exterior: it honestly looks like a newer building of Denny's, but meant to look really nostalgic. It's an exact replica of the one in Bangor, ME. This facility also has a nice outdoor area, however it was not being used and fold-up chairs were leaned up against every table as if to say "we're too lazy to offer outdoor seating." All being said, my family and I still went inside. Upon entry, there are beer signs so I was pleased to know they offer alcohol. Even the interior inside felt like the mentioned Denny's - the bar stools, the decor and that black and white tile flooring. Since no one was there, we practically could sit anywhere. However, the unbussed tables prevented options. If you're not busy - clean. Don't look at your phone. Don't go into the kitchen and talk with cooks. Our waitress greeted us and I asked about alcohol options. It's basically beer and "anything you can add to soda..." umm, ok. So I quickly went with a Pepsi. My sister opted for the unsweetened iced tea and I can't remember what my mom ordered. The laminated menu is small, basic and I guess not too expensive. We ordered the potato skins while discussing amongst ourselves what other food options could be, knowing we're not gonna stay long. Our skins came on a plate that must've been sitting in a vat of molten lava, without appetizer plates. Myself and my mother asked for these plates 3 times and as we almost finished what we wanted to, it was then the waitress dropped off 4 plates. There were 3 of us...?? Also I had to ask twice for sour cream. The only good thing was my Pepsi refill done as silent service. We were sat right near the doors to the kitchen. We could hear everything. We heard the profane language and it was a giant turn off. This whole place is a turn off. No wonder no one was here. We decided to go back to the hotel and order delivery. Honestly even if my entire experience was free next time - I wouldn't go. How is this place still open?! This will be a hard pass. Don't go here. The positive reviews don't do this place justice. The bad reviews are 100%

Dude. This place was awful. The only saving grace was our waitress. The mash potatoes were flavorless, the chocolate shake was Hershey's syrup with vanilla ice cream, the burgers ordered med well and came out like hockey pucks and they came with nothing on them, their club sandwich was just ham or turkey not both and was as dry as dry can be. Everything was flavorless. It's a tourist trap by design with the ambience, and the waitress was obviously tired after a long summer day but it's not enough to bump this place up to even a two star. We tipped over 20% because she was worth it, but $120 for 4 people are a diner? That's the last time we'll be eating here. You're better off going to the On the Vine grocery store up the street. Don't forget to say hi to Owen at the grocery store. He's got fabulous hair.

If you're looking for "home cooking" type of meals Blast from the Past is the place for you. A 50's style diner with a full variety of menu items: sandwiches/wraps, pub food, seafood items, burgers, chicken, meatloaf, spaghetti, lasagna etc.. There is bound to be something for everyone. Breakfast for lunch if you wish! Service is good.

We have been going here weekly with my elderly Dad but will never return after the treatment today. We were told we needed to wait 15 min, which was fine. My father uses a walker and can't stand so sat at the bar to wait. The hostess didn't want him to sit there bc said they needed to keep it open for customers. There was literally no one at the bar. We waited near him, and yes, were in the way. Before we could even attempt to move out of the way an employee moving dishes yelled at us to move. When my brother said he could have been nicer, he yelled 'use common sense'. It was so rude but also showed zero consideration to an 82 year old man who needed to sit down. I really liked going here but will not return.

Blast from the past dinner has become our go to eatery whenever we are in the Scarborough area. We have had a variety of meals, from lobster roll to turkey dinner, and have not had one we wouldn't order again. The baked haddock is especially good and fresh. The prices are also very reasonable compared to other restaurants serving a similar menu. Can't wait to go back to try a new menu item.

YOU COULD NOT GET ME BACK EVEN WITH A FREE MEAL! Overall Appeal 6/10: been done so many time before, nothing different. Food 3/10: all items that could not be screwed up, very simple menu, nothing new! Outside seating 1/10 Hot as hell, no wind, smell of exhaust, parking lot is right there. Service 0/10: Most likely the worst I have ever encountered. I do think that no one cares how they come off. The most rude staff on the planet, and I think they like it that way, because they are great at being demeaning, talking down to customers, like we are stupid. No one asking how your meal is or if you need anything. During the meal you are on your own. Good luck!! Now let me open with that we have been going here for breakfast with my 82 yo dad for a couple of trips for breakfast. This was our third time. It will be my LAST. Each time the service has gotten worse and worse and worse. The first time we were left at the table with all our breakfast food, one poured coffee and one creamer each, only to sit there for 15 minutes and be ignored, #1 for more creamer, but a forgotten item for my dads meal, he never got that item by the way. Second time, I was rudely told to move my car from where it was, mind you no signs, no explanation, merely a waitress yelling at me as I exited the car. Now comes the third and FINAL TIME. As we entered the building there was a wait, no problem, we kinda expected a wait. My dad, remember he is 82 and using a walker, due to weakness and trouble with stability, was refused to sit at an open bar seat, they rather have him wait outside, in 90 degree sunny heat with no bench to sit on. Then as we were trying to speak to a young hostess, with no experience doing this so she was lost as far as an decision, a older man with silverware came from the back and shouted as me to move from the walking path he was on. I turned to him as continued to mumble some BS under breathe like a embarrassed coward, that we should have some common sense. I simply looked him in the eye and repeated to him the word, RUDE! Don't be fooled my any of the good reviews, they were lucky that trip. Eventually idiots act like idiots, it is in their nature. I heard that there was new ownership? Well if this is the manner in which the new ownership attempts to run a restaurant, they are also fools and will eventually fail, like all other businesses only interested in the almighty dollar.

Fabulous Diner & Abigal great server.. Has old style nostalgia with great food. We got 2 draft beers, Hubby ordered Shepards pie with cole slaw, I got Lobster roll with house salad. I would say best priced in Maine right now and is just YUM! $25.99... the place was packed at 3:00 in the afternoon. Total bill was under $50.00. Would totally recommend has traditional diner menu..
