El Rayo has become one of my top choices for a satisfying and swift lunch! The fast-casual format, where you order at the counter and receive a table number, is convenient. Each visit has left me impressed, with the food arriving promptly and consistently delicious. Standout dishes include the carnitas quesadilla with chipotle mayo and the brunch menu's tatertots. Portions are generous, ensuring you'll leave satisfied!

We stopped by for a quick bite on Taco Tuesday and left full and happy. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the space is open with choices between large booths and table seating. Very kid friendly and a good option for a large group. The menu has a good variety of taco, burrito and bean bowls. We ordered a variety of tacos and they were all delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a great spot for brunch lunch and dinner!

Food was bland, but presentation was nice. You order at the front counter: they bring you your plate; you bus your own table. Meh.

Food is great, but for takeout the drink options are all of the high fructose corn syrup variety. After enjoying drinks like spindrift, lecroix, polar, or similar, the others taste gross now. Please add something better. I go after surfing every two weeks maybe on average.

Very bland black beans (I got the rice and beans bowl), tacos were missing cheese, and the pineapple salsa was BROWN; clearly the pineapple had gone bad.

No longer what it was. Very bland black beans (I got the rice and beans bowl), tacos were missing cheese (or if it was present it was such a stingy portion that I missed it), and the pineapple salsa was BROWN; clearly the pineapple had gone bad.

I love a good salad, and make them often. If I'm going to eat a salad from a restaurant, it's got to be spectacular, and the Fiesta Salad from El Rayo is so good that I call it the World's Best Salad. Other things there are 4-star good, sometimes 5-star good, but that salad...oh my god, I dream about it! I love sitting outside here in good weather with the World's Best Salad and a Ginger Smack Refresco. YUM!

Very unfortunate. This place used to be good. Went to the old location in portland all the time in the early-to-mid 2010s. Something has changed. Literally 50% more expensive ($15 vs $10 for a burrito, and inflation isn't THAT bad), and I can honestly say that a microwavable gas station burrito tastes better. Really really disappointing. I used to recommend this place to people from out of town. This is just embarrassing.

It's OK... Food is so-so. Kind of pricey for fast food essentially. Not very flavorful either.

Would have been better if there was not a group yelling profanity behind us for our lunch.
