This is an awesome place to go eat. My husband and I brought out German Shepherd puppy on vacation with us and she loved going to the Bait Shed. She got to hang out with us while we ate and made friends. The staff is super friendly and the food is great! I love the flatbreads!

Lobster Rolll was really good. Muscles decent as well. Little stingy with jello shot size of potato salad. Enjoyed the mixed adult beverages. Service was okay. The atmosphere was definitely the best part. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely.

First time back in several years. Food is good but pretty pricy for portions. nice atmosphere on the water.

Notice Five stars on all three categories, but four overall. Ordered steam clams, asked for an additional butter dip. Lived in Maine over 60 years, have had my share of mussels, steamers and lobster, often asking for an extra butter. Mind you, the amount wouldn’t fill a thimble. Yet this joint had the balls to tack on $2 on top of the $26 they charged for the clams. Gouging at the epic level.Parking: Very difficult to find parking

Beautiful day, excellent waitress, slow on getting the food out but when served very good. Tad on the expensive side, $26 for steamers, decent portion. But they had the balls to charge an additional $2 for a second thimble of butter. As stated decent size portion, with one little butter dish. Never experienced such a money grabbing charge. Disgraceful

We stopped here for an early dinner/late lunch with our pup. We sat out on the pier & our dog had 2 dinner options as well (hot dogs & hamburger) they served our pup on a Frisbee for her to keep! As we were leaving we ran into another pup, Mason, who was a local regular and coming for his burger. They serve the dogs a pail of fresh cold water as well. We had a lobster roll (double) which was chock full and amazingly good & a phenomenal lobster flat bread (I substituted regular cheese for goat cheese) & it was very tasty and I would get it again 100%. Very happy to come upon this ocean side lil spot which was a great find and well worth going to anytime.

I was really looking forward to going to The Bait Shed last night. We had out of town guests and the outdoor dining on the marsh looked like the perfect way to end their visit. We arrived at 6:00 with a reservation, the hostess took us part of the way on the beautiful deck before becoming upset and had us wait. It appears there was a mistake made. They attempted to rectify, but the solution was a table in the back around a corner under the kitchen window . This was definitely not a choice area. Since they were very busy and finding another place to eat was not in the cards, we took the table. The food was ok, but we definitely went for the view…which we did not get. During our meal, there were other people seated in this area, but several people were seated and looked around and then left. It really is not a pleasant area to sit.At the end, I asked our waitress how we could get one of the tables out on the pier with the beautiful view….her response “ you needed to make reservations”. I replied we did have reservations…she then just looked confused.I am so disappointed and embarrassed at this experience (this was a special night for our out of town visitors) and not once did anyone apologize or even acknowledge what had happened. The meal was ok…not worth over 200.00And the view definitely not worth the money.

We come to this restaurant every year during family vacation. Food and drinks here are very good, but overall pricey for what you get. The view is nice and if the weather is good, it's a great spot to eat. However, our large group of 9 people was quite disappointed when we were all put on a single table even though we had a reservation. Not sure if it was intentional because there seemed to be lots of confusion when we first arrived. We barely had space for our elbows while there were 2 free tables next to us for most of our stay there. This has impacted our overall experience as it was quite uncomfortable throughout our dinner, especially when our big plates arrived. Overall it is worth trying at least once and I definitely recommend going at high tide to avoid bad smell from the ocean and enjoy the view!

Service/host seemed a bit unorganized. Had to wait for a table longer than indicated. Kitchen was "backed up" apparently. Can't beat the view but there is no outdoor lighting so you can't go there after dark. Food was just ok. Crab cake was dry and slightly burnt. Clam chowder was tasty but I've definitely have had better seafood in other areas of New England. Ironically, I really enjoyed their Caesar salad though.

I realize this is a seafood restaurant, but I wish there were more vegetarian options for veggie people tagging along with others. The parking is not spacious enough. The greeters were all very nice, but did not seem to really know how to efficiently seat people. It was very difficult to get a drink at the bar without yelling to the bartenders and when we finally sat down, the waitress was not very attentive. Overall, the food was okay but the location was gorgeous on the water. Would probably come here again to sit at the bar for the views… that’s if I could find a parking spot or squeeze through the crowd of people waiting for a table.

My husband and I went here to try to crack open our first Lobster on our own (we are visiting from out of state). The staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and the view was perfect and relaxing. Just note, outside seating only :)
