Kume has been one of our favorites for the past couple of years as they have a location in Topsham and Augusta! So we are so excited one came to SoPo. The food is amazing and the inside is absolutely gorgeous! It was so nice to sit in as we usually order take out but everyone was so kind to us, it made us want to go back to eat in!
My partner & I stopped in for a late dinner tonight and we can't stop talking about how much we loved this place! Not only do they have an excellent menu with tons of options, the food was delicious and super fresh. We were very impressed with the staff who were so kind and sincere, and the restaurant was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. This place is great. The interior is amazing. Given it's in a strip mall, total surprise. And the food is as good as any Japanese i have had. Very pleasantly surprised at how good it is. Would be a top restaurant in a big city, let alone South Portland. The staff was also top level - they kinda tag team the process, so never felt ignored etc. If you like sushi etc, it's as good as it gets.
