This small restaurant is located behind the Claremont hotel, right on the water! Great view with a patio as well! You could definitely tell how fresh all the ingredients were! So good and tasty! The Mediterranean plate was listed as a main course, which it shouldn't be. It's more of an app. And also, I wish my salad would have been bigger. Our server was so cheery and friendly!

My wife and I have been eating lunch at the Fish Camp Sept. 8, 2023. I am writing this review because my wife was very disappointed with the lobster roll she was served. After eating lobster rolls in dozen and dozen of restaurants from Kennepunkport to Bar Harbor, she was displeased by the small portion of lobster served in her roll. At least 50% less than what is served in the other restaurants. This displeased her very much considering that the price of the lobster roll is $36. (Her top ranking place for lobster rolls is Mabel’s lobster claw in Kennepunkport). That said, the place is 5 star for any else to be evaluated.

Peaceful and beautiful right on the harbor. Oysters were clean and the freshest ever. Enjoyed the Mediterranean plate too.

Perfect in every way - loved all the decorating details, gorgeous grounds, flowers and plantings. I even spoke with the lead grounds keeper about the plantings she is so proud of. The Little Fern room is so beautiful and the food was extrordinary. Harry's bar is so cozy and the bartender is amazing. Every staff member made a point to say hello as you passed them. The waiters and bartenders at Batson Fish camp were awesome. If you need a peaceful break it is here at The Claremont. You could not ask for more. Gina & Rick Madison, NJ

Very strange experience last night at the Claremont. While sitting in the sitting area between The Little Fern and Harry’s Bar asked a waiter to take a picture. He took a few and then came over and adjusted my clothing without asking then took a few more. Truly bizarre and borderline inappropriate behavior. He was wearing a braided gold bracelet. Manager please feel free to DM me if you’d like to discuss and get more info.

A bit disappointed…activities schedule not emailed ahead so I missed a wine event when I checked in 40 minutes after. Was looking forward to a bike ride but none available. Food just ok, toast cold.

If you're making the trip up to the Acadia area and debating between staying at the Claremont over the Bar Harbor area, this is your sign to stay at the Claremont! We absolutely loved our three-day stay here. The decor and grounds are something straight out of a Nancy Meyers movie. Every inch of the property has been tastefully designed - it even smells so good you'll want to bring a candle home with you. I might be biased because we did get engaged at this hotel (if you're looking for the right place, the dock is a picture-perfect place to pop the question!), but we are already looking forward to trips back in the future. Thank you, Tim, for the hospitality and celebratory margaritas. They were delicious! We were also very impressed by the band they had play during our stay. Plan your next trip here you won't regret it!

There isn't any other restaurant on MDI that comes close to the astounding view and vibe of Batsons. As you sit on the deck overlooking the sparkling waters of Somes Sound, you cannot believe you are here. We were lucky enough to go the night they had a band, The Young Originals, playing for happy hour on the deck. Although we were seated next to a speaker, the cool, subtle sound was at a perfect level. Our drinks were served promptly, a delicious pick from the specials, vodka, blackberry, lime and a glass of crisp sauvignon blanc. We ordered the burger and fries and the chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. The servers are knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Do not miss Batsons if you are visiting MDI this summer. PS while you're at it, take a walk through the lobby of the Claremont Hotel to see the beautifully renovated 1884 hotel.

I remember the Claremont Hotel from the 1970s and 1980s when it was a quaint seaside hotel with an amazing setting that was dark and gloomy. I was delighted to reconnect with its newest iteration. The hotel is loving restored with comfortable bedrooms, beautifully appointed public rooms and gorgeous outdoor spaces all supported by a friendly and helpful staff. From fun details like evening smores packaged for an instagram photo to a beautifully stocked gift shop, the Claremont is the perfect oasis on the sublime island of Mt. Desert. Can't wait to return.

Ate at the Fern restaurant. They wouldn’t seat us at a table at 5 pm because we didn’t have a reservation. The tables remained 50% empty the entire time we stayed. We left at 7pm. Just doesn’t make sense why they would allow so many empty tables and make us eat at the bar.

We had a beautiful room in the summer house. Plenty of space for two. The grounds were gorgeous. We did the mixology class with Leifa. Very informative and fun! All the staff were absolutely wonderful. Loved the decor. Would highly recommend the Clairmont

A perfect seaside resort! Upon arrival I was told that the hotel had overbooked due to a weekend wedding so they upgraded us to a private chalet with 2 bedrooms, kitchenette, 2 baths and 3 fireplaces! Talk about a romantic honeymoon trip! Amenities include a 5 star onsite restaurant, heated pool, dockside bar and snack hangout, Harry’s Lobby Bar and an onsite Bakery for early morning coffee and pastries! Service is impeccable and the decor breathtaking! A genuine Maine lobster pound (Beals) is a 5 minute walk!

The most beautiful hotel in Maine! great place, beautiful rooms, attention to detail, pristine clean, the decor is inviting and comfortable. The food is great and staff is so friendly and happy, great environment. A must visit if you're planing to make your stay in Maine memorable. We will definitely be back. Loved it!

On the plus side, the grounds were lovely as was the main lobby and the croquet club (which was filled with fun games to play), and the staff was as nice as could be. The pool looked fantastic, although the weather didn't cooperate. On the negative side, the room was very small and minimally furnished (one chair, no desk, no dresser) and for the price and I had expected more of a "luxury" accommodation. For example, offering "afternoon tea" or wine and cheese in the main building or the veranda would have been a really welcome treat after a long day hiking through Acadia. Also, it might be nice to have a concierge to help make reservations and the like. All in all, it was ok... but could have been more and in my opinion might not be worth the expense.
