FINALLY found authentic Mexican food in Maine!Being from Arizona, I am particularly picky about this. Every other "Mexican" cuisine I have had in New England was just awful and did not come anywhere close to the real thing. I ordered the "shrimp salad" on the menu here and to my delight, was served ceviche. Very happy to have found this place :)

This is my favorite Mexican Restaurant. The complimentary chips and salsa is always good, but if you add a side of queso... oh man it's magic. The food is always hot, service is great, and I like how they've remodeled it.
Ohhhh Cancun. So many good times!!! The employees are so kind and my favorite people in the world tbh. The drinks are very hit or miss- the margaritas are AMAZING (any flavor is great) but the mojitos are ok. Just wanted you all to know. Also, whatever you do, try to avoid the bathrooms as much as possible. This is not because they aren't well taken care of, but more because the people in the bathrooms are very aggressive and make you feel uncomfortable. It's not Cancun's fault at all, but just something to be aware of. Also the booths are really nice and I really appreciate them.

I have not been to Cancun Waterville Maine for years. Is the place still the best? I plan to go there in the next few days. Their margherita was the best....lots of tequila and great flavor.Same owners as a few years ago??? !! ??Jeff

We have been interested in good Mexican restaurants since we moved to this area. The first one we tried was not memorable, but we enjoyed our meal here at Cancun. We opted to sit outside on a beautiful day. We had a server on her first day, but she had experience at another restaurant, so she just hadn't memorized this menu yet. She was great with an appropriate name of Margarita.She started us off with taco chips and salsa and took our drink order as we waited to for the fourth person in our party, who was waiting for a train to pass by an intersection before she could continue. Water and margaritas found their way to our table and so did our friend.After she arrived, we ordered our meals. I went with the "Build it yourself" option, which was selecting two items -- enchilada and burrito in my case -- and beans and rice with it. My wife went with a taco salad and extra guacamole. It took a while for the food to arrive. We weren't in a rush, though we had appointments to get to and nearly felt rushed at the end as we wanted to try the fried ice cream without running late.We were happy enough with our selections and will probably go back sometime when we crave Mexican food. If you use a credit card you pay yourself at the table using a tablet that have there for that purpose, which I believe also allows customers to play games on it.

The selection was very large, and I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.The price was extremely reasonable. Who wants to spend $30 for Taco Bell substandard food when you can spend the same amount at Cancun Mexican Restaurant and get fantastic food and service?This is the place for your Mexican food cravings. ?
The food is great, the night club thing they do is also awesome. The owner is incredibly hospitable.They have one bartender that sucks tho. I really don't like eating there when she works, she's struggles a lot with everything and doesn't seem to understand common sense.

Absolutely worst Mexican food ever. Our waitress couldn’t answer our questions. No soap to be found anywhere in either bathroom (doubt the people working there have clean hands). Waitress wrote down order for five people, we went over it a second time, still brought one wrong meal. Rice and beans is absolutely bland, and beans are just refried beans from a can. Everything looked yucky. We had two burritos. No beans, no rice, no actual cheese, no cilantro…. Looked more like the ingredients to an omelette rolled up, just no eggs, and instead of cheese they used velveeta. Chips were ok, drinks also, but that’s a low bar for a beer and sodas. I will never set foot in this place again.

This was a very surprising dining experience. We ended up here about 615 on a Saturday night, after trying some takeaway options that ended up being too long of a wait. We came here for dine in, and I had read intriguing reviews from other sites and decided to try it. I'd love to know what the space was in its previous life- a concert hall? It's very dark and cavernous and not super welcoming. I was honestly pretty put off by it but we were able to get seated quickly and the restaurant had a good amount of patrons. We got homemade chips and good salsa right away, which was definitely a good sign. We ordered the house margaritas which were probably the most disappointing menu item- not very flavorful and should have been cheaper than $12 each. But the food! Wow! It was actual Mexican food. We each got a chicken dish and the chicken was very moist and flavorful. I was really surprised, it's the best cheap Mexican I've had in Maine outside of that place in bridgton. We will definitely be back. Service was also very quick.
