“I cannot say enough about how happy I was that Popovers was closed on Tuesday. My wife and I were originally intending on going there, and needed to find an alternative. We stumbled upon Elephantine. Wow! We walked into this charming little cafe and were transported to Paris. The products looked delicious, and we soon found out that they didn’t only look delicious. The young lady, who was serving us, was exceptionally friendly and added to our pleasure. We ordered a yogurt, with, as I can recall, a pistachio, brittle granola, sliced fruit, honey and so on. We also wanted to just try some of their bread in toast form so I asked if we could order something that wasn’t on the menu. We just ordered some sourdough bread and wanted to have it with butter and jelly. The server promptly made it happen. The food was delivered and all of it was prepared at a very high level. Everything was not only prepared well in terms of ingredients and quality of the food, but it was also cooked/displayed nicely. The medley of food, atmosphere, and music made for the nicest breakfast I have had in a long time. We would recommend this shining star to anyone! The Elephantine is top notch!“

“Coffee was pretty good, but it wasn't really "traditional" Turkish coffee. They just poured boiling water over finely ground coffee in the cup they served it in. To charge $3.5 (plus tax + tip) for that is silly. Those who know how to really make a Turkish coffee where cold water and grounds are brought to a boil on a hot surface, know that it takes time and careful attention to make sure it doesn't bubble over, it's not over-extracted, etc. I wouldn't care so much if they didn't have a sign that literally says they make it the traditional way (should have taken a photo to post here). It comes in a nice cup and with a sweet marshmallow-like treat, which is a nice touch. The interior is cool and they have some traditional snacks that are really good. I'd maybe try a drip coffee or something else if I go here again, but I'd skip the "traditional Turkish coffee" unless they start making it properly.“

Well to my delightful surprise, my son; Brycen, unknowingly brought me home an Iced Coffee & the Amazing ‘Pumpkin Whoopie Pie’ pictured below.The cake is moist, soft & lightly sweetened unlike others that feel like you’re biting into a 1lb bag of Sugar! The nutty Pumpkin flavor of what typically is made of Cinnamon & Nutmeg is also light and tastes Fresh! Non “Pumpkin Lovers” would also enjoy this ‘Pie’ as the flavor is not overwhelming and doesn’t take away from the deliciousness of the cake!The filling is sweet & creamy with a perfect texture. It is also slightly flavored with the Pumpkin spices but again, it is only a light flavor.This particular “Whoopie Pie” was purchased from the Ogunquit Beanery who apparently get the pies from Bread & Roses which I Just found out while writing this review. Let me give you three things that will blow your mind here: The Black Friday sandwich. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry mayo, cheese on toasted sourdough bread. It's up there in the Top 5 sandwiches I've ever had in my 60 years. #2: Their brownies. I'm picky about brownies. These are some of the best brownies I've ever had. #3: The buttercup squash veggie soup. Unbelievable. Incredible taste. Again... this place is a hidden gem.“

“My wife purchased ice cream cones here several times during our stay in Ogunquit. She had the milky way flavor each time because she loved it so much on her first visit. I have a gluten allergy, so I could not try this flavor, but their mint chip was pretty good when I finally had ice cream, too. They have a large binder with allergy information, which provides some piece of mind. The service staff was younger kids on summer jobs and they were friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to other visitors.“

“My wife and I absolutely love this place. We used to go to their storefront in Ogunquit starting many years ago, and while we're sad to see their limited operating hours at the Wells location (compared to before) and the lack of display cases like they used to have, the quality is still top notch and the workers are fantastic. Amazingly delicious breads and pastries, including a phenomenal blueberry crumb loaf and dinner-plate-size choc chip cookies. The outdoor atmosphere and seating is more relaxing in this location and there's plenty of parking, which was definitely a challenge in the old spot. Ogunquit's loss is Wells' gain. Open 7-1, be sure to check this place out - you'll be glad you did.“

We had lunch - North Country Canadian Bacon, Turkey, Cabot Cheddar, Maple Mustard, Lemon Aioli & Lettuce on Borealis Bread, Wrap or Udi's GF Bread sandwich and my husband had a salad with fresh greens and fresh turkey and a balsamic dressing. My friend had a White Mocha Latte (proclaimed as "over-the-top delicious ") and an almond croissant. The place has other offerings on menu boards and a plethora of macarons and light lunch options. Tables either accommodate twos or fours and there's a quaint if claustrophobic charm to the ambiance.“

“I signed my wife and I up for a tea mixing class at Société last week. I'm not a tea drinker, but my wife absolutely loves tea. Since it was her 30th birthday, I wanted to do something special and different, which is exactly what this class was! Typically scheduled for an hour and a half, our teacher (and owner of the shop) was very thorough and engaging, which extended the program to about 2 hours. We tried 5 or so different teas of a variety of styles ranging from a cleanse, Chai, holiday special, and a black tea for some caffeine. Like I mentioned at the start, I don't drink tea...since that class, I've had 3 cups, and shared our learnings with family and friends (who also have fallen in love with the Chai we brought home). In addition to the tastings, everyone that attends the class is given a free jar of any tea they would like. When I told my wife a few days ago that I let my dad try the teas we brought home, she was (jokingly) angry that it meant she would have 1 less cup worth of tea now. Even if you don't sign up for the class, Société is a must visit for any tea drinker!!“
