Great food. Had the chapala Pina colada, the presentation was impressive but it tasted too sweet (maybe as for no or less added sugars). Nice ambience, reminded me of the movie Coco somehow.

Great drinks! Yummy food. Closest to authentic Mexican food in Ann Arbor. Really good salsa. Tiny tables but nice people.

Had the monster burrito it was the best burrito I've ever had, and I've had A LOT of burritos. Highly, highly recommend! 10/10 will come again for sure.

We love Chapala in downtown Ann Arbor. Our party came in early on a Saturday afternoon, just ahead of dinner rush (which we highly recommend) and by the time we left there was a line out the door! Which does not surprise me, the staff is friendly and inviting, fun atmosphere making you forget you’re in Michigan and feel like you’re drinking margaritas on the sunny shores of Mexico. The chips were warm and fresh, the salsa has the right amount of spice, guacamole is fresh and delicious. On this visit I enjoyed the Steak Quesadilla for the first time (very tasty!) and our entire party was pleased with their meals as well. Last but certainly not least the margaritas are great. If you’re looking for a Mexican dining experience, Chapala stands out above most others. I can’t wait to come back!

They don’t answer the phone. Just called 3 times to try and place a to-go order and the phone just rang and rang.. there’s no ordering through their website, it just gives their number. What’s the point of having a phone, if you aren’t going to pick it up. I’m so annoyed.
great place, wonderful food!! A bit loud but they were willing to turn to volume down a bit. We were in the newly renovated lower level. Truly great all around!

If you are ordering enchiladas (which are fantastic) don’t eat before because portions are on the larger size! We tried the enchiladas supreme and the enchiladas mexicana, both were delicious. Service was great, inside of restaurant is beautiful, would definitely go again.

Submitted a reservation online 10 days in advance. No one at Chapala confirmed. Called twice to check the status and both times the employee answering the phone could not help us, confirm the reservation, or provide any information as to who could. Never actually ate there, never will.

Staff was very rude and obnoxious to us.
