This place is the perfect little breakfast diner. The guy who took my order was a gruff no nonsense kinda guy that had incredible interactions with my kids.I’d eat here any day of the week. A must stop when in Ann Arbor.Kid-friendliness: Lots of seating, the employees were kind to my kids.

Came here for lunch and ordered a single glazed donut, #12 - Hot Pastrami Sandwich + a basket of fries. The sandwich was packed with meat and there was so much sauce that it was literally dripping out. So good. The donut was soft and not too sweet, just the way I like it. They have so many items on their menu and also plenty of donuts to choose from. The owner of this place has a really loud, booming voice and scared me a little when he shouted across the store. Not really a fan of this. The restaurant interior was fairly large and had plenty of tables.

The best deli out there. Not only is the food delicious, the portions are massive, often requiring two separate meals to fully consume.

High Quality Ingredients make delicious food. Sometimes feel like I'm at a NYC bodega due to the owner's character and the wide array of breakfast sandwiches as well other fantasic choices. They make all the sandwiches / entrees to order - and most are "all that AND a bag of chips" (Better Made brand chips included. Appreciate the value of Dimo's.

Today is "Shrove Tuesday", 2024. i bought a box of 4 custard paczki yesterday at Kroger's. Threw those out right after one bite - absolutely disgusting! This morning I bought four Custard paczki at Dimo's. SUPERB!! The wife and I split one after dinner tonight and the other three are in the freezer (they freeze very well. LOL) Thanks so much, Dimo's. You know how to do paczkis!

We went to Dimo's on a weekend morning and this place was basically completely full, with most people munching on delicious looking sandwiches. Our goal was different though - trying donuts from three of the highest recommended donut places in/near Ann Arbor. We decided to get the classic glazed and a cream long john from each place to compare. As we walked to the front counter, we were greeted (well, with a very loose definition of the word) by the owner. The owner is certainly a character. It kind of feels like Dick's Last Resort, a restaurant chain famous for having gruff servers who berate you at every opportunity. Just keep that in mind if you decide to visit Dimo's. Glazed Donut ($1.75) - What can I say, it's a good yeast glazed donut. Not too airy, not too dense, just right in the middle. The glaze is thick and flakes off the most of the three bakeries, giving a bit more of a texture difference than the others donut shops. The dough is lightest in color with the least amount of fry. It's also the smallest. The donut isn't that even in terms of shape and the bottom side kind of juts out and isn't the most aesthetically pleasing. Buttercream Long John ($2.25) - The interior cream is soft and fluffy almost like marshmallow fluff without any of the stickiness. It taste heavily of powdered sugar like a strong cake frosting. I found it to be way too sweet and the texture was the most gritty of the three bakeries. The ganache is placed as kind of a haphazard strip on the top. Again, the size is the smallest of the three. This was by far the my least favorite donut of the six I ate, mostly because I did not like the cream on the interior. If you like a strong cake frosting flavor, you may like this donut. Overall, Dimo's is the most expensive, has the worst service, and the smallest donuts in terms of size. Don't get me wrong - the donuts here are still good (hence my rating), but I just feel like Dimo's is the worst choice out of the three places I visited.

This place is the best. Delicious food, and a big, sweet mock-grumpy owner who hands out free donuts. ;)
