Great place for authentic Szechuan! Very spicy but flavorful and good portions. Our service was great even on a busy night. Would highly recommend

Their veges were cooked perfect and fish casserole was amazing. Service could be better, we felt like the servers was rushing us to order.

Did not like vegetarian string beans and fake chicken as that was not good. Sesame chicken fake was not bad, would order again if in the mood, string beans really didn't like. Maybe better for non vegetarian people can't attest for meat. I do appreciate that they have vegetarian sesame chicken and it satisfied the need! Rice is good.

Unquestionably the best gourmet Sichuan restaurant in the Ann Arbor area. The food is savory and can be spicy and the specialty dishes exceptional. Be impressed with the giant banquet table with a lazy susan for 20 twenty people.

As a Chinese, I mean their food is quite authentic. There are just this many Chinese restaurants in Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor area and this restaurant is one of the good ones. However, their service is just horrible. My friend and I came around lunch time, and they wanted to kick us out within 30 minutes since we got our dishes, because “someone is going to have a party in the main lobby” and we were seated in one of the designated tables. They never told us before we ordered that this was a thing and they wanted us to finish eating, gave us checks without asking, and questioned us why we hadn’t signed yet . And the waitress told us we should eat as fast as possible because “I can finishing eating within 10 minutes” ? So I guess this is my last time visiting Ypbor Yan. We paid and got insulted by the waitress. I mean who want to come back to this place again, if it happened to you? It’s not worth it even if it’s the most authentic Chinese food in this country ?

There are 2 menus here: Traditional Sichuan Chinese and American Chinese. Both are tasty though if you’re looking for “normal” Chinese food go with the American menu.I got the Chicken Rice noodles and now it’s a staple when we order from here.Portions are great and the prices are more than fair.Food has always been hot and never had any issues with the food or our orders.

The food was okay, somehow not as amazing as I remembered from long time ago. They also don’t serve water anymore and you have to get the bottled water instead.

we went there yesterday to have the lunch. as we thought it should be "good" or at least not bad.it turned out Horrible:1. the food is not good as before (at least not the same with our "memory ones"): really salty, not authentic sichuan food. they put some weired vegs in the dishes.2. the service is bad: after the waitress sent the food to the table, no where you can find her till you want to get out of there.3. the price: 1) the price of each dishes went up dramatically 2) the tea price is way too expensive - just one pot they charged $6.00. 3). we used credit card to pay the bill, they put the tips directly when they run the charging machine, at least 15% without asking or noticing you. we understood they served you, you have to appreciate their service and pay to the waitress by adding the tips. but is should be based on the service they provided, absolutely not in this way.at the end we did not argue this with them, just want to get out of there. it should be our last visit and that restaurant is the last one we have to visit in the rest of our lived.overall, not recommend at all.

They fraud on your bill! When checking out, I noticed that the price on the bill was 9 dollars more expensive than what was on the menu (even not including the mandatory tips). When I asked for an explanation, they just said “Oh, we increased the price but haven’t renew the menu”.How can you show customers a “low price menu” while charging them with a “hidden higher price menu”? This is a fraud. They also did not priced details on the bill so that it’s harder for you to notice that. This must have append for a long time cause I have felt a higher price when checking out in preview visits, but I did not do the calculation previously. In the end, they refused to correct the price.I don’t suggest you to visit this restaurant.

The spicy chicken was excellent as well but the spicy pork was on a whole new level. It was just so fatty and blended so well with the spice. Really excellent, spicy food. It tastes great. I went with a friend and he ordered everything so I wish I could comment more on the dishes!

First experience at this authentic Chinese restaurant. We did takeout, and I ordered the beer-flavored duck in a wok. The dish contained a more than ample amount of duck, and there were ingredients in it I did not recognize, but were very tasty. The sauce was very rich and delicious with just the right amount of spicy heat. Next time in Ann Arbor, I hope to return. Five stars.

It's not easy to find good Chinese food in Ann Arbor area. This is an authentic sichuan style Chinese food if you order the prototypical sichuan dishes. I only tried their Mao Xue Wang (spicy pig's blood curd), but will be back to try more. They also have plenty Americanized Chinese food dishes too if spicy/numbing style is not your thing. Took pictures of the menu so I can just look at them in the future.
