We often visit Mark's Midtown Coney Island because of the selection of dinner and breakfast items which are served all day. The service is great. I think the Ruben sandwich is the only thing I have tried that could use some redesigning. Otherwise, this is a great place to eat!

We we're "schooled" by the waitress that we were not supposed to have sat down at a table before they cleaned it, however all my wife and I did was to pick this table (because there was this sign "please seat yourself") and sat our two little kids down on the seats (as they are too little yet still having fairly decent weights if you carry them too long). This waitress cleaned the table by taking away the two cups of water left by previous guests and wiping the table with one stroke, finished it in less than half a minute. And during this half a minute she complained to us that we were not supposed to sit down before she cleaned the table, it was not the way how they do things, she repeated these sentences all over as if we did not understand her the first time. It was a shame that the food could be great but she made us feel uncomfortable enough that we had to leave. I had great experience at multiple Leo's Coney Island restaurants, but I guess I got unlucky this time presumed that this is just another Coney Island restaurant and expected similar service standard...

We went there for food not for being treated so disrespectful. I have nothing to say about the food cuz we didn't even try.

Stopped in early on a Thursday. Located in a strip mall off of busy Plymouth and the freeway. Clean and bright, everything is in good repair. When the food came I saw there was little butter on the toast, and asked for some butter packets, and the waitress got a disgusted face on. She also did not come back to ask if I wanted a refill of the very small sized soda pop until she cleared the dishes and dropped off the bill. So poor service. Worse was the food taste. It is a Coney diner, so it is not a Michelin star or anything, and is comfort food. This went much further, it was largely tasteless. I don't know if they buy the cheapest from sysco, or what. There were a lot of older people as customers, talking loudly and all that, and paying very slowly in cash and counting their change. So if that is not your thing, bear that in mind.
