I'm a big fan of the Misfit group, which also runs Social Misfits and The Foolery in Grand Rapids, where I live. I knew they had a coffee shop in Ann Arbor but hadn't been in to check it out until recently. I was in between shifts and needed a pick me up as well as a spot to get some work done, and Misfit Society was the perfect spot. great drinks, wish food was made in house though. (but half-off day-olds are good.) pretty expensive. fantastic people and vhs ghibli films playing on the tiny tv, but I think the hyper-consumerist marketing is trying way too hard to relate to "alt kids" and "misfits". feels weird to have manufactured community like that. some other reviews say similar things and have had really tone-deaf replies from management. would just be much better if it wasn't trying to imitate and capitalize...read full review

This place rocks. Location for students is best in Ann Arbor, and the coffee itself is far superior to other (nearby) chains. Prices are fair and the staff couldn't be friendlier. Enjoy.
