I have been here three times and the food isn’t bad but to be honest, I felt rushed in and out. It’s a 50-50 chance to get your coffee refilled. The staff is very nice, but visibly seemed overwhelmed and stressed. My biggest issue is the owner coming out and yelling at me and taking pictures of my car. As a woman, this makes me feel extremely uncomfortable, and I found his behavior very disrespectful.Their attitude and behavior towards a new small business is unprofessional and truly disrespectful. Lowertown informed me that they do not have a parking lot and was very apologetic for his behavior.I haven’t been back to Northside grill after poor service and this just solidified my choice.

Great food! Have been coming here for breakfast only every year for birthdays. If you love breakfast platters, you will love this place. The sausage gravy is pretty good, heavy on sausage flavor rather than flour. I always gets the sausage gravy, and I'm picky about that since I can make it at home. It's a medium sized restaurant with approximately 15 booths and a handful of table seating scattered throughout. Can get busy, so come expecting to stay for a while. This is a true sit-down restaurant, not fast food. They make your food after you order it. Place is nice and clean. Atmosphere can be a little loud with everyone talking at once , probably not a good place for meetings and interviews.

First time. Lunch. The burger was amazing and fresh, fries, wonderful and the lemonade ?
We’ve always gone here for breakfast, and its always pleasant. No complaints. While leaving the other day we saw a new bar/coffee shop called Lowertown Cafe that just opened up next door, so we decided to visit it that night. We parked in the same lot as in the morning, and we came back to a red paper that said that Northside parking is enforced 24/7?? It was 10pm, and Northside had been closed for hours. After asking around with locals, this seems to have cropped up after the new place opened. Northside is a breakfast place, and we were astounded that they show so little respect or support for other local businesses, especially when they are closed! We always try to spend local, but we will not be returning here. It seems truly wild to us that “Jim” inside the restaurant(on the paper) wouldn’t support other local business. We hope others share this view, and hopefully they change this policy. No one wants to park over there for anything but the bike shop, the new bar, etc so we just don’t get it

I absolutely love coming here. I came for the first time in March 2023 when I was touring a nearby university. Every time I come here the food is good, it comes quick, the servers are very nice, and it’s reasonably priced. 100% recommended eating here, (get the french toast).

Good food, great coffee, kind staff, and a lovely little outdoor garden! Certainly a great place to see a lot of maskless elderly white folk dining in their natural habitat, basking in he nostalgia of the good old days. Decorated with some really cool local historic pictures, scattered between a shroud of appropriated Hawaiian tiki torches, hula dancers, and an indigenous portrait with the captain "Aloha" for their "January 21st"Hawaiian Sunday" event, next to 1940's style pin-up propaganda/ad reproduction signs printed in metal. Seems like most of their interior design was purchased at Hobby Lobby. Maybe one day it'll be a new dispensary! Thanks, Ann Arbor!
