The food here is so yummy, flavorful, and delicious. Spiedo's entire concept (from the food, to the interior, to the 'graphic design is my passion'-esque posts on social media) is unapologetically vibrant. Please check out their IG; the design of their promotional posters are so avant-garde, it might send my graphic design professor into an aneurism. I went here for lunch and got the Zhoug Knight wrap. It was beyond flavorful. The interior is vibrant and intimate. Service was also great. Spiedo just might be my favorite Mediterranean spot in Ann Arbor. Can't wait to come back.

I dined in at this restaurant on 3/1/24 . There weren't any salt or pepper shakers on the table, so I requested salt and lots of pepper, on the side. But in response, I received a little side container with lots of salt and another with half as much pepper (the complete opposite of what I asked for). So I asked for more pepper, but was told that they'd have to charge me for it!!! Are you serious??!!! (That's why I rated the service only two stars.)I spent more than $40 during that visit, and have *never* encountered another restaurant that wanted to charge for salt/pepper. How about putting salt and pepper shakers on the tables instead? Problem solved then!!!I guess if I dine in here in the future (and that's a *big* IF), I'll have to bring salt and pepper with me to not incur any additional costs. Unbelievable and ridiculous!!!Wheelchair accessibility: Very tight, small restaurant. Also, the restroom is wheelchair inaccessible.

Good dishes with spectacular taste! So far the best Mediterranean food in downtown Ann Arbor

I met up with my foodie friend and fellow Elite Tiffany H at Spiedo recently for lunch and really enjoyed the experience! Spiedo is the sister restaurant to Takoi in Detroit, which has been on my list for ages. Luckily I got a taste of chef Michael Goldberg's food at this casual spot near the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. The space is super bright and cozy with limited seating. I was greeted right away by George (I think his name is George) who was really friendly and very helpful. He gave me the rundown of the menu and ordering process (order via QR code at your table or at the register) and let me know some fan favorites. The menu consists of rice bowls, flatbreads (wraps made with roti), and a handful of sides. I was really intrigued by the flavor and ingredient combinations, like walleye with a Thai fish sauce, pork with calabrian kimchi, charred carrots with tahini ranch... you get the idea. Super interesting and fun for me as we don't have a ton of this type of creativity happening foodwise in Grand Rapids where I live. (Spiedo, please come to GR?) I went with the Rip Smash (or is it RIP Smash?), with the roasted pork and calabrian kimchi. I debated on a side but I wanted to save some room for more Ann Arbor food adventures. Tiffany got the Juicy Sean walleye as a rice bowl and the charred carrots. Our food came out pretty quickly and looked nice, especially the carrots - the plating was that of a 5 star restaurant. The flatbread was super tasty and I loved that the roti had great flavor. There were bits of crispy pork that I really enjoyed although none of it was spicy. The crunch of the kimchi and cabbage was really nice, although I do kind of wish it was saucier (but I'm big sauce person). Tiffany loved her meal too and commented on how good the rice was, which seems like a simple thing but I find that rice can oftentimes be super bland. I loved this experience, it was super chill, delicious, and left me wanting more. I'll be back!

Been dying to try this place and it didn’t disappointed. Their fruit by the foot cocktail tasted exactly how it sounds, and gave me a nice buzz. Had their Griddled potatoes as a starter and cleaned the plate. The Zhoug Knight wrap was extremely tasty, and I recommend it with a side of their chili sauce. You could tell everything was made in house with some love, the kind of food I could eat daily. Oh yeah, and the building/interior itself was one of the coolest places I’ve been. I will be back.

I had tried Speido during their tasting menu days before they opened and they did not disappoint! Now that they're open: also don't disappoint. I'm so glad they made the space wonderful and fun inside! The folks working are always so nice and friendly! So happy to have the Takoi family back in Ann Arbor :)

The quality and taste of the food was good, can’t knock them there, but portion size is woefully small for the price. Additionally they charge 18% automatic gratuity on all carry out orders. Be prepared to spend almost $20 for a single wrap. It was good, but I can’t justify paying that kind of money when you can get a comparable wrap at Jerusalem Garden or Ahmos for nearly half the price.

The food is the highlight here! It's a newer restaurant but the food tastes like something you might get at a little place in New York City that's been there for 50 years. It is really dialed in. The chef or owner really knows what they're doing! Flavor, flavor, flavor! I will go back here again and again.

Fabulous flavors, great options for proteins (including vegetarian selections), enjoyable conversation and ordering process with staff, and waited maybe 5 minutes for food, if that. All-around loved it, will return (SOON!) Didn't get a chance to try the drinks, but cocktails, beer/cider, and a tahini chocolate shake all sounded good. This is an addition to Ann Arbor food we've been missing! Especially since Loomi wrapped up.Dietary restrictions: Wait staff asked about dietary restrictions unprompted, seemed very knowledgeable and willing to modify to accommodate.Wheelchair accessibility: Downstairs seating accessible.

Instantly one of the better restaurants in AA. The only thing that might slow this spot down is a potential lawsuit from Wendy’s over the reputational harm that the chocolate tahini shake causes the Frosty.
