There are only two words that come to mind when we describe Uptown Coney Island - Absolutely Wonderful. The food completely outshines the fancy and high end restaurants in Ann Arbor. It’s a treat to walk in to such a friendly and open hearted eatery. Our meal was fantastic and prepared with the freshest, high quality ingredients. Our waitress (Celina) was conversational, attentive and mindful of our order and needs. Celina truly represents the very best of Uptown. We ran into Gus as we left and he was welcoming and pleasant as always….Make your next stop at Uptown Coney Island; you’ll be delighted at the superb experience you will have!

Uptown is always consistently good food, fast friendly service, and clean atmosphere. My family has boon going for over 10 years. The wait staff is so friendly and accommodating. Like a second home.

The food wasn't that great but the waitress was very good. The men's bathroom door was so gross. Why would you clean the bathroom but ignore the door on the door, inside and out? I can see why they put an arm pull on the door. Good concept but Lazy and gross if it is not clean. Can only imagine what the kitchen looks like in the corners. If a health department reviewed this place, I assume it would fail, just based on the men's bathroom door. I want to eat in a place that is spotless. I can only imagine the cross contamination going on in back. We as consumers are stupid when it comes to dirty and unhealthy environments. I asked to see the kitchen and they refused. The place was very dirty overall. I have eaten here a few times and have posted a negative review on cleanliness every time. Obviously they don't read the reviews. This place needs an honest visit from a reputable health inspector to make things right. Someone is going to get really sick.

Pretty much what you would want and expect from a family restaurant. Quick service, clean tables & environment, good food.

This has become our standard breakfast place for a once or twice a week treat. We shifted to this new (to us) locale as our old standby has become disappointing. Unlike our previous favorite breakfast spot which shall remain nameless, Uptown Coney Island knows how to modulate the sound of their music. It's generally at the proper level for background and you don't feel like you are in a concert venue. And #2, these folks know how to make crispy hash browns! Their omelets are very good, I usually get the Western omelette although the Corned Beef and Southern omelettes are also very good. My spouse usually gets the Chicken Fajita Wrap ( for breakfast, I know) and she loves it. All the staff a very friendly and efficient. They keep the water and coffee cups topped off. Oh, and their coffee is pretty good for a diner. We haven't tried lunch or dinner here yet but based on the quality of the breakfasts, I'm sure the food will be quite good.
