We had a table of 7 for a birthday celebration. The waitress was great and food was all hot which is harder in a large group.

I was a bit hesitant due to the exterior condition. Don't let it fool you. The inside is clean. The food is really good, the service is great. Portion sizes are generous.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly environment with menu optionsParking: Plenty of parking available

Liked the bluegill and walleye. Loved the new crab cakes. Crispy on the outside. The cole slaw could use a tad of sugar or vinegar to take it one way or the other, very bland. The mashed potatoes were not from scratch. Pepsi products.Kind of greeted by a gruff cook who told us to get up to the wait sign to be seated. Same guy took payment...needs to put on a smile.

Building may be run down, but don't let that stop you! It's clean inside, and yes, badly, in need of updating..but the service and food was stellar. Especially love the hush puppies!! They make seafood either fried with flour original or salt and pepper flour..recommend salt and pepper. Food was hot and tasted great!

Had the frog legs as an app and they were cooked to perfection. Then as main meal had prime rib and shrimp and everything was cooked perfectly! Other person with me had peel and eat shrimp and that was amazing and also cooked perfectly!!! I would highly recommend this place especially on a Friday or Saturday. Pricing was well worth it as the portions were huge!

The service was amazing. Our waitress was great, and we were even greeted and thanked for coming by a few others that weren't taking care of our table. Everyone was really friendly. And the food was also really good. And quick, we weren't waiting for a really long time for our food, it came out quick and tasted delicious! Every meal comes with a cold side that they serve first and a hot side that they serve with your meal. All in all a great experience!

Good Service and Good FoodThey are known for the calabash style deep fried food. The all you can eat shrimp it good and a staple for this location. If you are not sure if you can eat a lot, start with the shrimp dinner and then upgrade to the "all you can eat". You can choose from salt & pepper to original coated. In comparison to other places, portion sizes are usually adequate for what you pay for.Complimentary hushpuppies are sweet and deliscious. Generally served with honey butter. They are short staffed, however, they are usually pretty quick to get your order out to you once you place it. About 10-20 minutes for a group of 4, maybe a little bit longer if you have a larger group. They are usually pretty busy as it is a popular location.

I grew up in the Atlanta area, so I'm always on the hunt for authentic southern flavors. Captain Luey's exceeded my expectations. My family thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I was very pleasantly surprised to see fried green tomatoes on a menu in Michigan. While the cheesy bread and mashed potatoes was nothing to write home about, everything else was amazing. We devoured two baskets of complimentary hush puppies. The calabash seafood was perfection. I highly recommend.

The lobster tail was frozen not fresh and they seasoned it with a chicken ramen noodle seasoning packet. When we sat down and touched the table, it was very sticky so I told the waitress and she said the cleaner they use makes the tables sticky and that’s just how it is. The prime rib was 40% fat but the flavor wasn’t terrible and the hush puppies were very good. All of the sides are clearly from a can. Overall, a disappointing dinner in Battle Creek.

Service was impeccable! Diane was amazing! The fries were incredibly well seasoned not greasy perfection. My steak was done mid rare and fabulous. My wife’s shrimp was great. Hush puppies were wonderful. If we visit Battle Creek again we will definitely come back!

When we pulled in we were not sure if we should go in, the parking lot was dark and not alot of cars in the lot and it was very dated looking in appearance. Boy are we glad we did! I ordered the 20 peel and eat shrimp dinner and my husband had the catfish fingers. Both were delicious! The waitress was super friendly and service was excellent. I won't return and would recommend it my friends.
