This specific location is the definition of HIT OR MISS.CB has been a family favorite of ours for generations. I LOVE this place enough to drive from Allen Park to Belleville for it. My dad... he loved it so much that when I was a kid and we traveled south to Kentucky from metro Detroit we would stop at different CB locations for breakfast, lunch AND dinner. We literally ate every meal at CB on our travels.This location is SO hit or miss that it's insane. We've been to this location MANY times and everything used to be really consistent. Then mid. It was usually good, sometimes not good.My husband and I came 2 weeks ago during a weekday, around brunch time and everything was amazing. He got pancakes, I got biscuits with sausage patties and a side of gravy. It was all SO GOOD.Tonight we came in at around 8:10 pm knowing they closed at 9 pm. But we were 50 minutes prior to closing. We were seated quickly, our waitress came and took our order.Then we sat for 45 minutes. There were only 4 other tables we could see, and as 9pm approached our server told us our food would be out soon.She delivered one of our 5 meals around 9:10, and told us that they only had ONE piece of chicken left, when we had ordered TWO of the 2 piece meals. So my son got one piece of one meal and said they would make the second piece while we waited.. and she offered meatloaf to my husband. I'm pretty sure their meatloaf dinner for $15 comes with 2 pieces of meatloaf and 2 sides... she brought him one piece with one side. Had to ask for his second side and didn't bother asking about the second piece of meatloaf because the server was already over it.We had to ask her for everything... silverware, napkins, the ranch and ketchup for the kids meal fries we asked for when ordering, the bicuits/cornbread that came with 2 of the meals, the gravy I ordered with MY meal - and she brought me the most watery sausage gravy. They also ordered sawmill gravy with the 2 chicken dinners and she brought out one half cup of weird gravy after all the food came out and said "thats all the gravy we have left". "We're out of the chicken dinner" and "We're out of cornbread" all at 3 different times. Who has EVER gone to CB and ordered a meal and received watery SAUSAGE GRAVY?! Sawmill gravy is NOT watery sausage gravy! We asked her a couple times.. is this the same gravy they serve at breakfast with biscuits..She said yes. I said I 20 years I've never had sausage gravy here.. Then she said THAT IS THE SAWMILL GRAVY!!!We waited forever. Didn't get half of what we ordered. She said she asked her manager to come speak to us... no Manager ever came. It was THE WORST.

Was seated right away.. given a menu.We wait 40 minutes and the wait staff never came to our table..We got up and left..I can't tell you about any thing because we never got waited on..Worse experience at a restaurant .

Initially—upon being seated—we waited about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. After several servers walked past us many times, one finally approached our table and took care of us… apparently, there was a miscommunication with some of the staff. After that, it was all good… our food came out in a timely manner and was perfectly hot and soo delicious—everything tasted wonderful!!!

I went here for dinner around 7:30 pm on April 21 and had one of the worst restaurant experiences in my life. The service was terrible to the point where the new waitress I ended up with would disappear for huge amounts of time and didn’t even show up for 15 minutes when I first got there then it took another 15 minutes to just get the drinks. The food took 45 minutes to get to the table and it was disgusting. It was undercooked and cold. The waitress would apologize with a new excuse every 15 minutes she’d show back up. This place needs to do better. If the waiter is new don’t put them on their own until they’re actually able to do the job. The kitchen in the back needs to actually cook the food correctly. I only ate 1/4 of what I got but I’m worried I’ll end up with food poisoning tonight. The place was half empty and I know I wasn’t the only one there with a poor experience. The people next to me said it took 40 minutes to get a table and they ended up leaving after waiting another 10 minutes for someone to show up to wait on them and they were told the place closed in 10 minutes. I’m not sure what else to say but they completely failed here and it put me off to ever come back. Complete waste of time and money. I should have asked for a manager to discount the cold food but I was at the point where I wasn’t going to wait any longer to get out of this place because I spent way over an hour and 15 minutes at that point when it was myself and my kid. Anyways, this place should be avoided.
