Mr. Foise has great pasties. You can eat them there, or take some home (frozen) to eat later. The best pastie restaurant I have ever been to.

I came in at the tail end of lunch hour on a Tuesday for carry-out. No wait - they had what I wanted ready to go. Driving home was 75 minutes of torture - they smelled soooo good! When I could finally indulge, they were delicious! Be sure to get the gravy for that added boost of flavor.

In my opinion, Mr Fosie's pasties are the only pasties.

Best chocolate chip cookie in Cadillac. That's right, I said it. Better than the one at the pizza by the slice party store in town.

Food is best in entire upper mid-west now that the Emlaw boys have things running smoothly. Service is outstanding and the shop smells like Grandma's kitchen in Cornwallis!

Let me tell you something about me: I love crust. A pasty is basically 50% crust, and 50% delicious gravy-and-vegetable goodness. I had never had a pasty until I visited Mr. Foisies Pasties, but I knew I would love them when I heard about them, and I was right! And what a place to try a pasty for the first time. Mr. Foisie's Pasties is a Cadillac staple. They are making amazing pasties here, and that's pretty much all they are making, with the exception of a couple of other crust-forward desserts like hot apple dumplings and hand pies. You have to respect a place that specializes in one thing. That's when you know you're going to get something really good. But back to the pasty. What's a pasty, you ask? A pasty is a British baked pastry, typically filled with savory ingredients like meat, potatoes, onion and rutabaga. (Think of a handheld pot pie.) It turns out that pasties are a part of Michigan's and the Upper Peninsula's mining history. Pasties were brought to the area as the original fast food of lumberjacks and miners. Mr. Foisie's was founded in 1987, and they have been serving three main pasties since then: beef, chicken and veggie. I got the veggie pasty, which was loaded with rich gravy and cubed vegetables. The thing that did it for me was the crust, though. I have never had crust so tender. It was so soft that it was surprising that it could hold so much goodness inside that pocket. I also got an apple dumpling, which is served hot and glazed with a sugary vanilla frosting. The apple dumplings are huge and cinnamony and decadent. Pasties and other baked goods are made fresh throughout the day here. But they tend to sell out before the day ends, so be sure to get there early if you want to snag your own pasty!

Every time we drive downstate to visit family we drive through Cadillac! We always have to stop here and get some pasties for the road! They are always warm and so filling! I am a vegetarian and their veggie pasties make me incredibly happy!! Thank you Mr. Foisie’s!

Born in Manton in '87 & have been enjoying the pasties here since I was a toddler. I now live in Metro Detroit, but when I'm up north, I ALWAYS stop in here to stock up on the best meat pies money can buy. Food here is easily a 10/10.

It's adorable, it's small, service was nice. Appears to be a very small operation. When they are sold out- it's sold out. You can buy some to go , eat in, or frozen. They were out of the beef, so we had a chicken and a vegetable. I think i preferedd the vegetable. I do like mine with gravy. There are books, games, and other odds and ends to look at while you wait and dine. I appreciated the michigan themed items.

Food - 5 star Service - 3.5 star Ambiance - 3 star Food is really Good. We think the best in the state of Michigan. Mom loves their pasties and we always try to stop by when we drive through Cadillac. Service is ok- the guy who works there is alright not bad. Not overly friendly. But don't let that stop you. Definitely recommend and will go there again. .
