I was so excited to try House of Umami as I love ramen. We visited for the first time on Easter. The decor is very nice, music was playing an a very reasonable volume. Our server was great!!!! The food......yummy. I got the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen, it was rich, hearty and very tasty! My spouse got the Ahi Tuna bowl. He very much enjoyed, but had one recommendation. The wasabi was buried at the bottom of the bowl, somewhat mixed in. His recommendation (and would likely order this way next time) have the wasabi on top where consumer can see and monitor how much they get in one bite. We also tried the plumb sake, yum! Will most definitely be back!

10/10 food, service, and ambiance The food - We got 2 appetizers, nigiri and spring rolls. The nigiri tasted fresh, and the spring rolls were perfectly crunchy, though the vegetables inside were a bit mushy. The appetizers were perfectly portioned and didn't fill you up. The sushi, bowls, and ramen were also perfectly portioned. I was full at the end with no leftovers. The crepe cake was so delicious and I could have eaten many more slices. The service - It was not awfully busy when we went, but the service was fast, they checked in on us throughout our meal, made sure we never had empty drinks, and cleared the tables as we finished. Ambiance - The decorations and vibes are immaculate. The lighting is soft and they had chill music playing. Was super inviting and made a great atmosphere.

We ordered take out. I'll give it an overall 4, but see scores below for individual items. 5 Eel roll 5 Salmon avocado Both rolls were fresh and have a great stuffing to rice ratio! I was super surprised. 4 tantanmen ramen - great smokey flavor, and I loved the bok choy, but it was too salty. Ik ramen is typically salty to get that umami flavor, but this was a bit overboard. 3.5 Chashu bowl - salty, smokey, umami, and oily. The pork was a little dry. There was a lot of rice. The mushrooms were a nice flavor contrast. Needed a green component. Both bowls were a little overpriced for the amount of food. 2 Green tea crepe cake - lacking in green tea flavor. It was giving cool whip.

This was our second time eating House of Umami. The first experience was great, so we decided to get carryout this time. The broth I got was chunky and super sweet. I got the tonkuson and couldn't even eat the broth. I ended up just eating the ramen by itself. On top of that, the container was only filled half way. I'm very disappointed as the first time was very good.

I love this new asian place in Canton! We started off with some tasty drinks (lychee martini and new fashion) and we had the bang bang chicken as our appetizer. They were crispy and topped with a spicy mayo sauce. We got the tonkotsu ramen which I would rate a 4/5 because it was good, but didn't have the same taste as the traditional tonkotsu ramen broth. We also got the chashu bowl which was absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend this dish. They're a bit pricey and have smaller portions. The service was amazing and they made sure we got good quality food. This place is huge and clean and has that cute ramen shop vibe.

My wife and decided to give Umami a try. We were pleased with our experience. The Atmosphere was good. I'd prefer the lights turned up slightly more and music a little lower. Our server was extremely nice. My wife had the Tiger Eye roll and crab Rangoon. Both are super tastey! The Wasabi did not wasbi like it should have. It didn't have that kick you enjoy with your sushi. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen and the Bang Bang chicken. When I got my ramen, I was a bit sad it came with the brown broth. Which I learned is a different regional variation, and I can ask for the creamy, white broth next time. The bang bang chicken was good. It seemed to have been the same chicken my son had with his tenders and fries, just with some sauces added. I had higher hopes for it. I washed it all down with a Sapporo beer. Which I always enjoy. We plan to return to try something else.Kid-friendliness: Decent kid options. Kids cups with lids.

Food is authentic and sooooo flavorful. The waitstaff is experienced and extremely well mannered. High end quality and experience. Miso Ramen was soon good. Same with the tuna bowl. Reasonably priced, too.

Me and my mother decided to go here for a girls night out and it was absolutely incredible! The food, service, and atmosphere were all perfect and the experience overall was wonderful! For drinks, my mom ordered a Sprite and I ordered a tea. ( a quick heads up is they only have unsweetened tea but our waitress was so kind and she brought some sugar packets?) for the appetizer we ordered the crab rangoon! This was by far the best crab rangoon we have ever had! It was made with real crab, and was filled with the perfect amount of cream cheese! The dipping sauce that came with it was nice and sweet and was super good as well! Next we both ordered the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen! The original dish comes with pork chashu, spinach, nori, soft boiled eggs, bamboo shoots, and a naruto fish cake. My mother substituted the naruto for shitake mushrooms and the nori for corn, and I substituted the naruto for shitake mushrooms, the eggs for corn, and took the bamboo shoots off my order. When the ramen arrived, it was exactly how we ordered it! No mistakes or unwanted items, and it arrived shortly after we finished our appetizer! The ramen was absolutely incredible but 2 of the toppings really stood out. The chashu pork was so flavorful and tender it melts in your mouth, and my mom said the eggs in her ramen were absolutely delicious. The only problem we had was when we got to the very bottom of our bowls, the broth was really salty, but the rest of the experience made up for it! When we were halfway done with our ramen, we ordered the teriyaki bowl to share. We ordered the chicken version and it came with fried rice, broccoli, zucchini, carrots, onions, and was topped with sesame seeds. We both loved this bowl so much and my mom said that it was her favorite dish there! The final dish we ordered was the strawberry crepe cake for dessert! It was a thin layer of sponge cake with 8 crepe layers and strawberry filling! It came with whipped cream and 2 macchiato cherries on the side! The crepe cake was so light and soft which made it a great dish to end our dinner with! This place is a definite must and we will be dining here again! Thank you House of Umami for such a wonderful experience!

As a Canton native, I've watched my hometown evolve over the years, but nothing has been quite as refreshing as the addition of House of Umami. This restaurant brings a diverse taste to our culinary scene, offering a delightful departure from the usual fare.Stepping into House of Umami for the first time is like being transported to a different place altogether. The ambiance exudes an authentic Japanese charm, making you feel as though you've wandered into an eatery in Japan itself. For starters, my family and I indulged in a feast of crispy Rangoon, potstickers, and bang bang chicken. Each bite was a burst of flavor, but it was the bang bang chicken that stole the show for me. However, the temptation of trying the bao bun and avocado bomb next time is too irresistible to resist. As for the main course, I opted for the tonkotsu ramen, and it did not disappoint. The pork was incredibly tender and packed with flavor—I found myself wishing I had ordered an extra piece. Our dining experience was further elevated by the exceptional service provided by Tia, our server. We also had the pleasure of chatting with Jenny, the manager, who shared insights into the restaurant's concept and offerings.Overall, dining at House of Umami was a delightful experience from start to finish. I highly recommend!

Nathan is a fantastic Manager! Darvious is a wonderful helpful and server. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is Asian fusion meets new age relaxation with lowly lit lamps and zen music playing? The bar had so many drink to choose from! You can’t go wrong with the Ramen either. Vegan options make this a great spot for all. Kids menu, too!
