Fun place to hang out and eat! Love checking out the stationary and kitchen gadgets. It’s the best place to find the goodies you can’t get anywhere else!

What an unfortunate and strange path Noble Fish has gone. Their unmitigated success as a small restaurant in terms of food quality and preparation has devolved into what can only be described a sad shadow of its former self. I had thought that Noble Fish was a family-owned business, but it turns out that it's a wholly owned subsidiary of the Unification Church, and it all is becoming clearer.Noble Fish started out as an Asian grocery store with a small dining room in the rear. I believe there may have been five tables. The sushi they offered was exquisite. To my recollection, the absolute best sushi I have had in the Metro Detroit area. When I made trips to Hawaii, Guam, and Japan, I found myself comparing what I was served at various sushi restaurants to what I had eaten at Noble Fish, and found that Noble Fish was superior. I couldn't believe how lucky I was to live so close to the best Sushi I could get, and even better, the prices were incredibly competitive.I had noticed that the sushi quality had fallen off after the 2020 expansion, but was convinced that I COVID had caused some of their better chefs to retire or relocate, and it would only be a matter of time before they got their legs under them, but no such luck. The quality has taken a nose dive.I just ate there today, and will not be going back. I would better spend my money at sushi from Kroger than what I had eaten today. The Crazy Eel was not freshly prepared. It was chewy, and had no flavor. The Michigan Roll I had also had a similar lack of flavor, with the rice seeming to detract in both texture, which was mealy and dry, and flavor, which was notably flat. The Acapulco Roll I had was, in the same vein, just as bland. I thought I would recognize some of the individuals behind the counter, but none of the familiar faces were to be seen.I can't tell which has suffered more: the quality of the fish, the preparation of the rice, or the quality of the fish storage. Regardless, the entire operation seems to be phoned in at this point. This place is going to continue making money in spite of itself, but I am left to lament the loss of a truly exceptional sushi spot.

Very good sushi. We usually get take out. Online ordering is very convenient. Favorites are michigan roll and chirashi bowl. The attached market/store has great snacks.

Always amazing. They have a few different trays of sushi always ready or order ahead if you want something specific. They do sell gift certificates at the register. Free street parking or big parking lot in back(sometimes difficult to find to a spot).

I used to like this place because of their sushi was good. I only did takeout before. However, after interacting with their staff, I don’t think I’ll visit this place anymore. They don’t have a mind set of customers service. Very rude staff. Plus, the sushi I had today was super dry. Hard to swallow.

Got take out. Had the spicy California roll and guy I work with other kinds of sushi. Great food and reasonably price for the value.

Bare bones sushi in the back side of a grocery store. Just the atmosphere I like. I got to interact with the chefs browse the grocery and get some of the best sushi I've had in 10 years or more.

The best sushi around! Super fast online ordering and always freshly prepared-ahead staples for a quick grab. Fun to take kids shopping at their market for unusual foods and candy.

This is a fun, interesting market and sushi restraunt. The food is very good and the market has a lot of unusual foods to purchase.

We moved to the area about 12 years ago and one of the first restaurants we visited was Noble Fish. My goodness it has changed a lot since. Originally it was a small grocery store at the same location with a tiny restaurant in back. Despite the cramped quarters and lines it was worth it. While that charm has vanished it's been replaced with a larger, fresh modern look. While I have not found a place that replicates the quality and taste, IMHO, Noble Fish is still number one in the area. Unfortunately as the economy has changed so have the prices. Overall I'm still very pleased with the restaurant and grocery selection. They must be doing great because they've grown over 2x and even have a new place in the Somerset Collecion.
