Hamido Restaurant is perhaps the greatest middle eastern restaurant in the Detroit area. I have had this location, as well as the Dearborn location multiple times over the years. The food is very consistent between both locations. The biggest plus about the Dearborn Heights location is the spaciousness of the dining area, though it does feel like there is less parking.As for the food, it is amazing. The mixed grill for 2 is what I would recommend as it has an excellent variety of middle eastern meats. The shawarma here is top tier, much better than most spots. The rice is flavorful, fries crispy, and half chicken juicy. The service during my last trip was slightly lacking, but the food definitely makes that easy to forget.Overall, I would definitely recommend trying Hamido. It is a true Dearborn/ Detroit classic. Definitely grab a shawarma sandwich at the very least if you’re passing through, you won’t regret it.

For a period of many years, I have been eating tender grilled chicken at this restaurant, which is distinguished by its freshness and taste, since month. The chicken is large in size and its meat is strong ,not fresh tough, very tough and not palatable at all. It seems that it is from Kroger or any American store I mean not halal. Otherwise, how could this sudden change occur, which is very well known to everyone who tastes it, especially those who used to frequent this restaurant. I try to give that meat to the cat it rejected to eat ?

They always mess something up or forget something with an order. Not only did they charge us for a platter and not give it to us, saying we didn’t order a platter even though it’s on the receipt. They also didn’t wrap the soup correctly and it spilled inside the bag and all over the car.
