Kinda dark, kinda dingy, kinda dated. It was our first time there, and not planning to go back any time soon. Our waitress seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else. We ordered drinks ( we all had beer ) and then food. The food was good ( corned beef sandwich ). It was a decent size sandwich. We tried talking and joking with the waitress as we ordered more drinks, but she wasn't much for a conversation.We ate , we drank and we left.

My mother grew up around the corner from this bar and has always wanted to visit so 60 years later we went and had a great time. It's very dark and moody inside. The food was good and service was appropriate.

This place is an experience. Anyone who goes here knows that. It's like an old gangster 70s bar. The classy gangsters though. Pizza and many other things rock. Tuesday's half off dine in pizza. Yum

We finally came here to try the Elmhurst after passing by several times. We are both delighted! An old-fashioned supper club atmosphere, extremely competent and friendly service, and delicious food. This will be a regular stop from now on.

What has happened to this use to be a fun relaxing place to go? I have been going to the Elmhurst Tap Room for many, many years. Something has drastically changed! I found this to happen since it got sold out. The food is still good, and the ambiance is okay. The problem is the help. The bar-maid Jenny is EXTREMLEY RUDE!! And the waitress Denise is just a crab!! The manager is unfriendly! It's sad when you go out to just get away from everyday life and go to a place that ends up being stressful and it costs money to receive this type of treatment! I decided to give this place a couple more tries, but nothing has changed. I can really foresee the business go under eventually if this help behavior continues. I decided not to go back there ever again, and my friends feel the same way. There are so many other good corner bars to go to. I am hoping the owner reads this review. Do you ever go check on the staff there? You might want to do that because your business will fail, I am certain of that.
