The food was good, but they really need to update thier interior and lobby. Great customer service made up for the dated inside.

I went here on a friend's advice. Chef Greg was very cool! He even brought the food out to my car. I had meatloaf...very very good! Mac and cheese was awesome! Also had the house specialty sub sandwich-ground beef with a special house sauce...sorry Chef Greg, I can't remember...was it Bogaloo sauce? Great, but messy, sandwich! Sadly, it was carry out only. Not too far from my Dearborn home. Can't wait to go back!

First off please remove Chef from your name bcuz clearly your not a chef. Second, take that dry dark STOVE TOP STUFFING you called dressing OFF THE MENU!! That's false advertising. Third everything was garbage!! Fourth I never had shredded cabbage before and that hot water cornbread suppose to be made with hot water not stale yellow corn meal ughhh!! Your food was so disgusting I want to stand in front of your restaurant every single day just to warn people not to eat there. How dare you try and sell that slop to anyone. If I didn't order delivery I would have marched that slop right back up there. I want my money back!!!??

I had the original Boogaloo sandwich. It was so delicious!!! No way I could finish it in one sitting. And the red beans and rice were so good. We went early, before the lunch crowd, and got to hear some great history about the area and the boogaloo sandwich. A fun and delicious experience!!

Got the ribs with candied yam and greens. It was great. Would recommend ordering ahead since wait time may be 25 min (they make it after you order). Would also recommend takeout since there are many bees and flies around distracting from the delicious food.

I ordered the pork chop dinner with macaroni and candied yams. The service was prompt but I did call in my order. The name is fitting, it has soul and ambience is intimate. I would return and definitely adding this location to my favorites!

Pretty good.. peach cobbler (didn't care too much for that or the cornbread because that wasnt sweet) chicken, black eyed peas and candy yams. I would come back and try some other stuff. The chicken was seasoned good and it was tender. For the price you would be full.

I was very disappointed with the food. I was in town for a Graduation ceremony, and we decided to try it out. Over priced buffet at $32 per person. The flat wear and utensils were plastic, and the music was to loud.

I live right around the corner from Chef Greg's "Soul N The Wall". I've been wanting to share a review for a while, and photos of my food. The problem is that his cooking is so damn good, I forget to take out my camera before I've eaten it all. Chef Greg is the truth, and the next time you have a taste for soul food, this is the one. He cooks stuff up by order though, so plan in 15-20 minutes for your order.

Great soul food. I enjoyed the healthier preparation of certain items as I do not eat meat. Chef Greg is great! Well done on the menu!

I can't say enough good things about the food or the service. Food is always 5 stars and you get treated like an old friend/family.

A must try when you are in Detroit. A true hole in the wall, resonate with neighborhood history. Greg is a thoughtful and pragmatic ambassador for Detroit, and he makes damn good food too!
