Sad to see this place close. (Last day 02-29 *Saturday). I had to be make my way there for my Old World Sandwich ingredients which included a variety of sausages and the pocket bread. Will be returning for a few King Crab legs before the final day.

Sadly this well known local iconic business is officially closing its doors as of March 1, 2020. A staple for almost five generations for families and customers far and wide. The customers came to buy seafood and meats, but the business was most famous for it Sausage Pita sandwiches. You could come and get a sandwich with "The Works" 3 meats or the "Super Sized" 5 meats in a pit pocket with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and mustard! Folks knew if they purchased a Sausage Pita they would be full. Combo specials included a regular sized bag of chips, cookie and a 12-oz. can of pop (Yes we say "pop" in Michigan, not "soda"). It's sad to see this staple in the community close. The owner is retiring and the word is that since the city of Detroit's "rebirth" building space rent for the area has seriously increased in an outrageous way. Sad. So the very last Sausage Pita sandwich will be sold Saturday, February 29th 2020 at 5pm. And the business will be sorely missed.

Yelp has this place permanently closed. It doesn't close until February 29. I so wanted to enjoy the sandwiches. A 40 minute wait in a long line. Shared a fresh and a smoked Sausage pita . Both were ok, not great. The place is filthy inside.guess I'm glad I tried it,but wasn't worth the hype.
