Best jalapeno salsa in southwest! We tried carnita, asada, pastor and chorizo tacos, Pozole, and coctel de camaron, all amazing!!!

Hands down the best carnitas and pastor tacos I’ve ever had. My wife and I have been to a ton of taco places in the area and always come back to el capital. They are the perfect size, crisp, and price. Their consistency is on point and you can always count on them. Customer service is top notch, you always get fresh free tortillas, and taco Tuesday 1.50 tacos hit the spot every time. Literal los mejores tacos de Detroit??

Family run, small business in the heart of southwest Detroit. The service is great and I apologize for not posting pictures of the tacos...we ate them too fast!

Looking at the pictures on yelp, I'm going to take a wild guess that the reason my food was bad, was because I ordered at 9 PM. Word of advice for those ordering late. Don't get the rice. It will be overcooked and mixed with couscous in an attempt to counteract the sogginess. And definitely do NOT order the cheesecake. The graham later was like dust and fell apart under my fork. And the actually cheese cake tasted like spoiled milk. Disgusting, couldn't even eat it. Atleast the cherries were good though

Tried a new place for lunch Friday and found another favorite to work into my list of "treat myself to lunch" spots. I went with their "caporal" burrito, great flavor, served in a very nice setting. Friendly staff, I told them on my way out how much I'd enjoyed my meal and that I'd be back... Now, to wait a few days so they don't think that I'm moving in :)

Its a blessing living in the Metro Detroit area and having access to many authentic Mexican restaurants, not to be confused with Tex Mex. If you see menudo (beef tripe soup) or whole fried fish on the menu, then you know it's legit. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. The wait staff was very courteous as well. Not your typical Taco Tuesday.
