We tried Empire 4 years ago for Valentines and it is now a regular spot. The wings are our favorite but every item on the menu has amazing flavor and very satisfying. The shishito peppers, crispy potatoes and Empire Burger along with their chichen sandwich are our regular go tos... The bartenders are always friendly and attentive and make great cocktails.

Cute spot. Was chill for a Tuesday before Valentines dinner, which we liked. We have passed by on weekends and it usually looks packed. Food was great - highly recommend the chicken. We loved the crispy shrimp as well. Husband had the salmon, he enjoyed, but I am still wondering if I like fried salmon....I think the chicken was better. Desserts looked good, but we were too stuffed. We will go back!

Ordered the short rib, Caesar salad and brussel sprouts. Short rib looked nothing like the picture and tasted more like a chuck roast. Definitely sat in the window too long as the gravy had skin and mashed potatoes were hard. Caesar salad was good, but I thought the dressing needed more zing. Sprouts were tasty. Service was poor, we sat at the bar, and once food was dropped, bartender never came back to check on us. Missed opportunity for a second drink. 20% gratuity automatically added to a bill for 2 is unheard of and ridiculous. 20% is my norm for good service, but last night I would have gone down to 15%, maybe 10%, based on the service we received. Not itching to go back here.

The manager served us this. I'll let the picture speak for itself.

Empire Kitchen & CocktailsThe venue is absolutely beautiful, it’s definitely aesthetically pleasing. Of course before going, I looked over the menu. In my opinion the menu is pretty limited. I ended up getting the crispy potatoes and the Brussel sprouts. The potatoes were good, nice and crispy, and the perfect thickness. The Brussel sprouts were really yummy. The honey oil provided the exact amount of sweetness to make them perfect. Our waitress Priscilla gave recommendations and she was pretty attentive. Although a mule wasn’t on the menu , that’s what I had and Priscilla picked a berry flavoring for it. Overall, Empire was the perfect end to a busy week.Parking: It’s downtown so parking can be hit or miss. I had to park more than a block away. Lots were charging upwards of $20.

The food was pretty good but a little over priced in my opinion. The atmosphere was nice. The parking was rough but they do have valet parking which was more convenient. The most inconvenient part was that they only have one bathroom each for man and woman. I tried to get into the bathroom 3 times and each time it was occupied.

I really wanted to like this place, first our reservation was at 3pm. Waitress didn’t come to us until 3:30 and we ordered drinks. Didn’t return until 4pm and we finally was able to order food. Only whole hour with no cocktail or food is crazy?! Only two servers for a packed restaurant smh. Waitress never once apologized for the wait time and got an attitude after 20% gratuity was collected only thing that was worth the visit was the conversation with my girls and the prickly pear mimosa.

Last night, I gave the restaurant a second chance. 3 months ago, my friends and I sat at the bar to grab a quick bite before a concert. We all ordered pizza. We inquired several times about out food and kept being given excuses by the bartender. Eventually, the manager came over and said there was an issue with the kitchen receiving tickets, apologized and ensured us the pizza would be out shortly. 20 mins later, no pizza and we left. Last night, got a table for dine in after a concert. We arrived around 11 and service started well but quickly changed. At midnight, we began questioning when the food would come out. We were told it should be out in about 10 minutes. At 12:20 we asked for the manager and was advised their was a issue with the kitchen receiving tickets. The food finally came out; 2 pizzas burnt on the top, wet and greasy and uncooked on the bottom, 2 burgers with cold fries sent back, salmon dish never delivered, short ribs looked like a troth of beef and gravy. Manager finally came over at 12:40ish expressing communication issue between kitchen and waitress. Clearly, it wasn't just communication as the food was awful, and the manager advised he was aware of the issue but didn't come to the table until 20 mins after he was requested and he really had nothing to say but he hope we give them another chance. It was an awful way to end our night of celebration and I have no interest in every returning.

On a Saturday night after 9pm, the crowd is mostly 30 year olds. It’s a nice safe place for a date or hanging out with friends. The shrimp are delicious! The burgers are overpriced. If you’re looking for a restaurant that stays open late, this is a good option.

Visiting Detroit and was recommended by the hotel staff. Went on a Tuesday night with no reservation. My server, Casey, was well knowledgeable of the menu, and nightlife of the city. She was beyond personable and gave her personal recommendations. The short rib and salmon are great choices. We sampled multiple drinks, and the berry bliss was a favorite.

i made reservation on 12/11 at this restaurant online for 7 ppl on 12/24. the same day i called to confirm and change it to 10 ppl they agreed. they emailed me 12/23 at 6:38 pm canceling my reservation and didnt state why. when i called and asked why they canceled the reservation they said its because they are closed on christmas eve. if thats the case why would you allow me to make and update a reservation for that day 2 weeks ago? and they canceled it so late that i cant get in anywhere else on christmas eve with a party that large. they just ruined my birthday and i had never even been there before i was just trying them out because i saw so many good reviews. very disappointed in this situation.
