I just legit had the BEST Reuben I’ve ever had in my life. This place is awesome! Fred, the owner, is one of the nicest fellas and will treat you right. I am not familiar with the area, so I just threw a dart at the wall and figured I’d give this place a try. I will be back as often as I can get to downtown Detroit. Keep it up, Fred. Thank you for the hospitality, wonderful food, and amazing service! You’re the real deal. The kind of fellas that would give you the shirt off of his back. I hope other people have the experience I’ve had! I will see you very soon.

YES PLEASE !!Amazing specialty sandwich combinations. Great Soup too. I cannot get enough. Never disappointed at this place. Corned beef is perfection. Been to all the locations, this company is very consistent.

Last week was our first time we visited this good restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last. We enjoyed the evening a lot with the excellent service, with the fine dishes and wine and with the friendly price. We will no doubt go back there in a short time.

I was looking for a place to eat quickly while working at the TCF center in downtown Detroit. I was unfamiliar with the area and happily/coincidentally stumbled upon Gateway Deli Cafe. It looked fairly busy and the menu looked extensive so I was very excited to try it out. I knew I wanted something healthy like a leafy salad. They had breakfast served all day in addition to sandwiches, wraps, soups, and salads, also, there were baked goods and a selection of coffee, tea, and soft drinks. It seems like a smaller place from the outside but it opens up for indoor seating over on the side. The person who took my order was not overly friendly but the woman waiting the tables was super friendly and asked me continuously if there was anything she could get me, it was so kind. I guess I must've ordered mine to-go because it came in a plastic container I should have been more specific to say I was sitting there. However, my salad was absolutely delicious. The portion was large which was great because I was starving, it was on a bed of fresh spinach with more than enough marinated chicken avocado, walnuts, cucumbers, and tomato with their house dressing which is a mix of olive oil and balsamic. It was absolutely delicious. I didn't eat most of the chicken because there were so much of it and I was already full, but everything else was so tasty. I would definitely come here again to try breakfast or maybe a wrap.
