I had a fantastic 3-course meal recently that was bursting with flavor and texture. The chef expertly combined sweet, sour, and salty flavors to create an electrifying taste experience. I even got to try caviar for the first time, and it was incredible! The Lamb Chops were grilled to perfection and the inverted cheesecake was simply amazing. Our wait staff was highly professional and knowledgeable, ensuring that my date and I were informed of any dishes that could be problematic for those with dairy allergies. Overall, I would rate this restaurant a 9 out of 10. My only suggestion would be that they consider implementing a dress code to match the high-end dining experience.Dietary restrictions: Great choices for dairy allergies.

the restaurant is beautiful and an experience, but it isn’t all that. i had reservations and had to wait almost 10 minutes for a table although i had reservations. the service was amazing they have amazing waiters and employees all of them are so kind. the food though is not the best. this is the least i’ve ever ate/gotten when going to a restaurant but the most i’ve ever paid. you get about three things in each plate, like three tunas with cracks, three raviolis so you barely get food but you pay a lot. the food was interesting the flavors and everything but it didn’t sit right with my stomach barely touched anything. however they did accommodate us since we didn’t like the food. the desert though was amazing especially the homemade ice cream. id give it 5/5 for the view and the service but a 1/5 for the food. id recommend the place for the view, bar and desert but not for the food it isn’t worth the money you pay.

My wife and I enjoyed our 2nd date in awhile here! The experience was exceptional. Every single staff member greeted us and welcomed us on our walk to our table. Salah and Drew took care of our food, wine and water and they made it a special experience for us. It’s a very positive atmosphere with amazing views of Detroit, Window and the rivers. You can truly see the whole city and beyond. Parking is easy, and they validate it for you. Not only do we recommend going here, but we will definitely be back again ourselves someday. The food is unique and fantastic! Probably more than I expected, the portions were appropriate and by the end of the 3 courses, I felt like I had eaten well, but not too much. Sometimes fine dining leaves you hungry, but not here. You will leave happy and feeling like you are some great food that was prepared with a lot of care. Thank you Highlands team for a great experience and all the effort you put in to make this an iconic Detroit experience!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! The atmosphere at Highlands is impeccable. It is upscale yet approachable, modern, and joyful without being loud. The service is outstanding. All staff were acutely attentive - never letting water glasses get empty, clearing dishes as soon as the last bite was taken, and appearing as soon as we had a want. What amazed me most about the service is that while staff were clearly watching our table attentively, they managed to find a way to do so that was not intrusive and incredibly graceful. Our server Chad did a wonderful job reading how much engagement we were looking for. He did an incredible balancing act providing us helpful guidance that empowered us to make informed decisions. One female manager we briefly interacted with was incredibly pleasant and cared about our experience. We had a slight miscommunication in steak temperatures that was resolved immediately, and we were very well taken of.On top of the impeccable service, the food was out of this world. There is a beautiful variety in the menu that provides options balanced in flavor and excitement. Everything we ate was so delicious, and I will recommend Highlands to anyone who will listen. Highly recommend the foie gras crème brûlée. Holy moly! We can’t wait to return next time we’re in town.Parking: Parking is seamless with 3 hours of free parking in an attached lot with validation.

The food was terrible. Look a this menu and you will see. You could put a texas roadhouse up here and the food would be better. My martini glass looked like it's from a dollar store. My table wabbled and they use way to much seasoning. Keep it simple. Il gladly pay 250+ for dinner if its actually delicious. The view was great as was the service. But the food and table were a joke. A table for 2 should be big enough for 2 people.

The riverfront lacks restaurants with water views, Highlands has them and more. Kevin will make having a lot of wine choices exciting for you.

What an amazing experience, we got there right at 5 and didint wait a few minutes before we got sent up. The way up is awesome! Getting up there and seeing the aesthetic is like a dream!! Such cool, lax vibes, SUPER chic. We didn't get our bartenders name but she had dark hair and red lipstick and some tattoos and she was a total doll. Made me the best espresso martini I've ever had and the best peach martini my partner has ever had. This place exceeds expectations and if you are looking for a dinner with a view there is simply no better place to go in Detroit. Food was spectacular, I recommend the beef tartar, but if you loved pickled things the pickle board had amazing pickled grapes that blew our minds.

My fiancé booked us a dinner at the Highlands for Valentine’s day and it was an amazing experience! The way up in the elevator with the views was incredible. The sunset was breathtakingly beautiful. They had a special menu for Valentine’s Day. We ended up getting the Australian Wagyu cut (Halal) with mashed potatoes and butter, the ravioli from the appetizers, & the lettuce Gem salad. We also got two mocktails. The food was delicious! Our favorite was the ravioli with the burnt butter. For dessert we got the cheesecake and crème brûlée and they were both out of this world! So balanced out and super light. I would highly recommend! Overall a great experience to remember.

Bar service was SO slow. It's a Monday. Food was okay. Ambience was great. Parking was hard to find and more difficult to get credited for. Glad we had a gift card because otherwise would have never gone here.

We (my boyfriend and I) arrived early about 10 mins early for our reservation. Upon arrival they advised us that our table was not ready. We were the instructed to have a seat at the bar and advised us that we could order a drink in the mean time until our table was ready. We were slightly shocked how long they took. We reviewed the drink menu for some time, and then finally decided to order a drink (two glasses of wine). As soon as the bartender poured our drinks and sat them infront of us the hostest informed us that our table was ready. The two glasses of wine were about $22 a piece (nothing fancy)The hostest and the bartender then informed us that we had to bring our own drinks to our table.I had on heels, my coat was off due to the 15-20 minute wait and I had a purse so my hands were full. So when the staff told me I had to bring my own drinks I was a little taken back. We did not have a chance to drink them, so I was just confused as to why they did not offer to bring the drinks to the table. We had a excellent waiter who knew the menu very well and could offer recommendations. The menu did not have any form of chicken option shocked me. The menu consisted of mostly beef, oyster and scallops options, rabbit and lamb.We had 3 course meal that was $85 per person. I skipped one of my servings because they were out.My steak and mash potatoes were GREAT! 8/10, my boyfriend had the lamb chop as his entree. Artichoke for the appetizer, I didn’t like it so I sent it back.We both order the short rib, but we were informed at the last minute they were out, I skipped on the courses due to the limited menu. The view was amazing! If you sit by the window bring a jacket, it can get chilly.Lastly, I ordered crème brulee, they burnt my sugar on the top. I was disappointed, the custard inside was good but you can actually taste the burnt sugar. All in all I would give it a 6.5/7 of 10. I was really looking forward to the outting with my boyfriend. You are mostly paying for the view but it has such a nice ambiance. The bread was EXCELLENT! It tasted like pretzels, amazing!
